2k7 I thought was the best basketball game that VC created but this years version I think is by far the most realistic basketball game ever created. the controls are smooth and I like how the players shoot the ball like in real life.

I will be posting some videos of my game play later on. If you have tips, lets help each other out.

Yeah I'm thinking about buying it. I rented 2k8 and it was excellent. Greatest B-ball game I've ever played. You can run a realistic looking offense and do all the little things which adds to the realism. You can shut down a certain player if you really want to. It's more of a team game.

Im a Lakers fan of course and use the Lakers but I put Kobe on the wing and in scoring mode and let Javaris distribute and facilitate.

I gotta get this game

2k7 was garbage! compared to 2k6. at least or xbox 360. I memorized the enitre playbook for the cleveland cavs. and in 2k7 they just weren't crisp at moving around properly.

Im stil deciding whether or not to get live or 2k8

I like the total feel of the game. I am no 'fanboy' of a particular franchise but I have been playing 2k since sega and I have tried to play live and I always end up selling it on ebay. To each is own I guess, live is just not for me.

To those who have live, start a thread and share us what you think

live doesnt come close to 2k..2k7 was too easy for me though. releases were simple, get a ton of steals, and press y for a spin or hop step and you got 2 pts lol
2k8 is definitely realistic

live is fun as hell....played it about 15 times against a friend....i think i'll be buying 2k8 though after the all star game.

I hate online players on 2k8, anyone I've encountered who has used the Lakers or Rockets are the biggest cheesers ever. Doesn't matter, I end up clobbering fools with the Wolves or Hawks

well on the new nba live 08, i play sim style and dont exploit the arcade style flaws.....i guess thats why i'll be buying 2k8 next week. Hopefully i can remaster the cavs playbook like in 2k6.

So i finally picked up NBA 2k8 yesterday and it is WAY better than live!!!

And its a major difference from the demo that i played instore and downloaded. Very happy.

The instructin booklet blows though....can anyone help me with using ball handling moves......how to play in the triple threat position ( i can only back down and baby hook shot), alley oop, and how to do signature moves with superstar players?

You can play with 3 other people at the same time. Its real fun playing 2 on 2 games.

What kinda stuff do you consider cheese?

i was just debating if i should by 2k8 or live. ive played live before but not 2k8. you fellas have given me some good input so im gonna pick up 2k8 this weekend. thanks.

I might do the same thing myself.. I still have old as.s PS2 (don't play all that much, so I ain't spending $400 for a new console) and the only hoops game I got is the also old as.s 2K5.. Rosters are waaaay outdated of course.. Usually only play Madden, but I'm getting burnt out on it and need a good NBA game with current rosters so I can tweak it and put Gasol in there and dump Kwame like a bad habit.. I've heard different debates between the two games, but yeah, 2K8 sounds like the ticket..
