XBox 360 [Help Me Decide] - Oakland Raiders Forum | Message Board

Ok, I'm probably going to get one but they have all these types. Elite, Core, and the basic one. Now I know Elite has 120GB but I really dont care about that much. I mostly play Madden, NCAA, and NBA games.

What matters to me is graphics. Is there a big difference between these three? I went to their website and I didnt see any difference really (Elite looks good in black though lol).

Now my last question is where can I get the best deal? I looked at EBay, Craigs List, Walmart, and Costco. Would I be able to find better deals somwhere else?

get the Premium one, which is one step above the "core". Id go with Elite, but honestly if you dont care about the big size then go with the Premium one i think its called. the 2nd level.

BTW the Graphics are ALL THE SAME FOR ALL OF THEM.

Get a premium for sure, graphics are the same for all butt for the core u need to buy hd component cables and memory, hence the reason why its not a good buy. An elite is mostly for the hardcore who d/l lots of movies and etc...

Elite -- well built machine. Had it for a while and works perfect, while many unforunately have had problems with the other versions.

First off I'd say that the Premium is probably the best overall value. But if you have a sweet HD setup and high end audio, I would go for the Elite. I agree with Raiderschamp that you won't notice a huge difference visually with the HDMI, but there is a huge difference in the audio quality if you run the audio through HDMI also. On my PS3 I run the audio and video through HDMI and there is a HUGE difference between the standard audio cables.

Also, if there is any difference to the way they are built as NEO was hinting to, the Elite may be worth it. I have a Premium Xbox and am on my third replacement.

man this is scaring me off now lol. I've been reading about this problem with the 360 all over the internet. what's the problem you keep having?

The new ones (make sure the premium you buy says hdmi on the back of the box, come with an extra heat sink which would help it stay cooler). Even if it god forbid breaks (red ring) they fix it for free for 3 years.

I don't want to discourage you because it is a really fun system. The warranty is pretty good and I've never had to pay for a repair. Last month when I mailed mine in they said it would take 3-4 weeks, but they actually mailed me a brand new unit after about a week, so I didn't have to wait that long.

I just read that MS is going to drop a new XBOX 360 sometime around Sept - Nov that will have new parts to solve the problems. Not only that but also it's supposed to be cheaper.

Damn it now Im probably gonna have to wait. Cause I would be pissed off if I buy one now and they drop it in a couple of weeks or so. I'll try to find out more about this and see what I will do.

ive had the Premium XBOX for OVER a year....Never had ANY problems.
