Funny thing about Kobe, he originally wanted to play soccer professionally, but when he moved back to the US, he had to switch back to basketball. Also, Chad Johnson is a huge soccer fan, and he's publicly said that soccer is his favorite sport...he plays soccer before every football game he plays.
Whatever dude was trying to debate, high school is never a way to win an argument. In high school I played 4 sports, not that I'm that good but it was much easier to play that many sports when the overall skill level is not as great.

You're right about KB24 and Ocho Cinco. Both are huge fans and both said they'd love to play pro soccer if they didn't play basketball and football respectively.

One last point, you can't even say that basketball players could not play soccer because they're not athletic enough. That is foolish. Do they have the technique to play? No, but that's because they're not training 8 hours a day to play soccer. Also, there is no way that just beacuse you play soccer you can play other sports. Each sport has a specific skill set that takes years to master.

I don't even know why I keep posting on this stupid thread...

what??? one reason this is stupid cuz its a different sport!!!
u dont need 300 lbs guys that bench 1000 lbs.
is more of an endurance for that reason, and there aare hell of alot of fast players and athletes.
i dont wnat o argue to much about this cuz i love both these sports
but man ur ignorant to think football "soccer" is inferior.
NFL hits and tackles to the gorund, soccer doesnt reqire this.
once a gain a different sport!

man have u ever played soccer??? i have, plus football, and other sports
its not that easy to dribble a ball with ur feet, while runiing, juking and havin the wathc the field and pass it or even shoot it with accuracy and power.
some of u guys think its just easy to run and shoot and it goes in, try it ull c.

raiders all the way baby, but the truth is, that soccer is truly international, world wide, NFL really isnt even tho we have a few pre-season games over seas, we reall dont match the world wide love of soccer man.
there;s a world cup wwhere all the nations get together to c whos the best, liek the olympics, NFL superbowl is only in the US!

NFL has one league. 1 championship
in the world there are several leagues with several talents, players, tournments, chanmpionships.
    l
ast thing, this one might sting, but the US is one of the mant countries that havent won a world cup, which is bigger than the superbowl worldwide.
some of u might say who gives a crap or whatever but its true.
i honest believe that if NFL players tried to play soccer they would have to loose some muscle, wieght, and gain more endurance. its a constan no stop
running back and forth, like basketball which again there are no 1000 lb bench presser, yea some 300 lbs guys but thats cuz they like 7'o or more.

NFL is my favorite to watch, but i do follow soccer, mainly european cuz Mexicos soccer sux!
BUT MORE THAN NE THING THEY....ARE DIFFERENT.....SPORTS!!!! CANT TRULLY CALL ONE SUPERIOR JUST BY UR WEAK TOP 10 UNSTABLE LIST

i hope this sutpid tread wastn statred cuzx of the UEFA taking over rite now on ESPN

haha, i feel ya. Comparing high school to professionals isn't exactly a good way to get your point across, but you get the overall consensus. I can say, from my personal experiences, that soccer does help you tremendously with everything you need to excel at other sports. For instance, i started playing soccer when i was 3 years old, and gradually got into other sports like football, basketball, tennis, baseball etc...Playing soccer made the adaption to other sports much easier, i already had the stamina, coordination and speed needed to play every sport i wanted to, and that can be contributed to all my years from playing soccer.

No one can truly say that if football players and soccer players switched sports, that either one would be better than the other ( if that makes sense), but you can guarantee that the soccer player's football team would have much more speed and a lot less strength, lol.

other thing, is dude, TO???? he isnt even the fastest guy
messi, rolandinho, henry, A. cole, robinho are faster

ok that basketball refernce was a fallecy man, cuz first ur shootin with both hands
and jumping in the air. the ball is made different and alil bigger and rounder.
u can control it a whol lot easier with ur hands, in which we are more accostumed to using. dont have a goal that can move and slide into u to take the ball away. Basketball is alot pickier than soccer at calling fouls also.

soccer u kick with ur feet, handle and dribble with ur feet
in which the majority of use are not use to!!! so what if the goal is bigger theres a reason cuz its harder to kick it in , harder to handle and dribble, the ball is smaller an ment to be kicked but can also curve off, lets c U kicka basketball into a net!!! theres agoalie aloowd to stop it from goin in
and this sport has been around longer than football, and basketball
its one of the older sports.

ONCE AGAIN DIFFERENT SPORTS, DIFFERENT WAYS TO PLAY
ITS LIKE COMPARING TENNIS AND PING PONG!!
    U CANT, THEY DIFFERENT

THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME WITH THIS STUPID TREAD

In soccer, i went back and forth from forward to center-mid, sucked a$$ cuz i was always sprinting at all times. In football, i was a WR/CB, and since my team only had 25 guys or so, i had to play defense, offense and special teams, so i literally never left the field lol. What position did you play? I'm gonna guess mid fielder with all those injuries

Soccer is a great sport. There's a reason you see it played all around the world unlike football. It all comes down to personal preference. If you don't like the sport good, but don't hate on the sport and call it names, blah blah blah... because their fans are thinking the same about football

But you gotta admit those soccer players are the worst actors ever...

F*ckin hate it when they act like pu$$ies for no reason. Gotta love it though when the ref gives them yellow's for deliberately falling down and such. If i was a coach, i would fine each player for purposely falling down and acting. lol...still pretty good entertainment

I hear you. I played soccer for a minute and ran track too. I'll say that even though I ran everyday in track practice, I still was not in the kind of shape that I was when playing soccer.

It is a great game and it's sad that the "Ugly American" attitude always shines through when discussing soccer. People just can't seem to think outside of their surroundings. Football is a great game but it is only played in North America. Soccer is the world's game and I don't think most realize the depth of talent there is across the globe. Imagine if every country had a football league as good as the NFL.

Possibly the biggest load of crap I've ever read. For anyone to say that you don't need to be fit for soccer, that there's no skill required for soccer and that speed isn't a requirement for soccer, have a look at any Cristiano Ronaldo highlight reel on youtube and tell me that he isn't a freak of humanity.
"If you want something, go get it. Don't let anyone convince you that it's impossible. Make the impossible possible. Do whatever's needed to make it happen. Go at it with both hands, take it in stride, and hit paydirt....."

I have great respect for that man. That (expletive) runs hard, I mean harder than anybody I've ever seen
Darnell Dockett speaking about Darren McFadden, the BEST running back in the NFL

Yes you understand because you live in Australia. Here in the states soccer isn't as popular, but my family is Mexican so I kinda get whats so cool about it.

Haha, right on the button man. I played center midfield most of the time and also some striker, but I dislocated my shoulder playing goalie going up in traffic on a corner. Still can't believe it happened, just because I was filling in for our main goalie who was out with a fluke injury. Pussy.
