Thanks Pietro for your words about Scotland..I dont Know about having a world class team (certainly World Class Supporters!!). We did do very well in qualifying only to be edged out by the French/Italians.
What disappoints us Scots the most is the fact that had we gone to championships instead of France we would certainly have put up a better effort than them, we might have lost each game but we would have given our all.
And Jaycee...yes lets forget England..lol!!

Today is the day. I'm a little nervous to be honest. We never played good against Turkey in the past.

Im not much of a soccer fan, but I enjoy the world cup. I was born in Spain, so Im rooting for them to do well. Soccer still has a looooong way to go to receive mass appeal in the US.

The US got it's own sports like American Football, basketball and hockey. I think that's the reason why the US is pretty much the only country not infected by the soccer madness.
Will it ever change? Who knows. Maybe when their national team gets better. Success = hype

Good points Pietro - this is game no. 29 of the tournament and it’s been a long time coming.

US has to play teams like Barbados to qualify for the WC - the Euro teams beat the hell out of each other constantly... a lot of bad blood between Euro countries over soccer games.

I am looking forward to today’s game - I will be watching at work. I can't believe how decimated Turkey is - missing 6 players from the last game and maybe more- ouch.

I think that's not good for Germany either. Now everyone expect them to win in a blow out. And it's not like the Turkish subs don't know how to play the game.
It will be a tough game for sure.

ESPn dropped coverage for about 5 minutes. I guess they are lucky no goals were popped in

That's our quality. No matter how poor we play, we still manage to win.
I was crying like a baby
Now party with beer, vodka and schnaps.
