Blatter wants clubs to release players over age 23 for Beijing Olympics (AP)
FIFA president Sepp Blatter wants older players who wish to compete in the Beijing Olympics to be released from their club obligations, despite rules from soccer's world governing body that suggest otherwise. National squads can take up to three players over the age of 23 to the Olympics, but clubs can refuse under FIFA rules to let older players take part.
