as we all know, the best way to play this game is to play it properly i.e. dont go anywhere near the create-a-player option (unless making new draft picks).

what i want to know is, from playing the game, who are the first players you trade for when starting a new franchise (cos lets face it, the team in madden needs improvement before you start!!!)

my fav players to trade for at the moment are:

Jonathan Vilma
Dunta Robinson
Lamont Jordan or Deshaun Foster
Deoin Branch

I like to add Ed Reed and Sean Taylor. I love to safety blitz and Vilma covert him to a DE he becomes a 97(trade him away) and I trade C-Wood away and add Robinson and Hall. The I add Peterson and Lavar. I built my team around my D

I dont trade for players, I build my team through the draft, I traded collins, Sapp, Washington, P-Buc, Tui (made him a 96 before i traded). I got draft picks for all of them. I drafted Aaron Rodgers, David Pollack, Antajj Hawethorne, Darryl Blackstock, Cedric Houston (RB Tennesee), And a couple others that are rated in the 80s as rookies. Man I love NCAA and Madden combo

-I like small and fast RB's on madden so I traded for Detroits Kevin Jones...

-Marcus Washington is awesome at LB- great speed etc. and never misses a tackle with great awareness for those fumbles etc.

-Tommie Harris is only 20 years old on the game so i usually pick him up in a random trade put him 3rd on the depth chart and give him some reps until his 2nd/3rd season when i start him and his stats go through the roof!

-Robert Thomas makes a nice cheap 3-4 ILB

-I usually package P.Buch+one of our retired players like Gannon/Rod Woodson ~(they retire after a year anyway so you might aswell get something back for em!!!) for Nate Clements- awesome CB combo with Wood...

Not Harris is the only 20year old... Harris is only 20!!!!! But yeh, Deangelo and Starks there too but he's the only one outta the three i've traded for on the past.

OK 1st I;

1)Trade Gannon for A-train, who has always worked for me.
2)Trade Sapp for Marcus Stroud (and add like a 4th rd pick)
3)Trade 1st round pick (1st year class is almost always bad) napo and a 2nd round pick for Moss (unbeatable combination between 4 very good ones)
4) Trade Rice and Brown for Jvilma (I use a created D with 2 LB so I dont need any outside)
5)trade Pbuch and No Play Ray for: Ed Reed.
6)I give Nnamdi the start and he plays very good.
7) Stay with collins throws a BEAUTIFUL bomb to randy.
8) Done... what I do the 2nd year if i dont like how A-Train is playing )has only happened me once) trade him tui and a 2nd rd pick for c portis...

Those are some crappy ratings. Our offense is a little better and our defense at least deserves a 75. These ratings suck and I hope they change.
