One reason can be that you migt be trying to do alot of moves then your guy gets hit then fumbled or your guy just gets hit hard in open space then he usually will fumble if you catch the ball in the middle of the field and theres a lot of players around you might want to try covering the ball it lessons on the chance of fumbling

Spec catch is an unfair move in Madden 08 thats why they are taking it off in Madden 09 but there is a way to defend it. one way is dont allow the QB time to get the WR deep either press the spec WR (Works best with a pressing DB) or just get to the QB before the WR gets deep also another way that works well is double the Spec WR I usually do all three to a Spec WR and If theres two I usually put my best pressing DB on the best Spec WR than double the other one, but still make sure to bring pressure

But they are hard to stop especially if the person your playing knows how to user Spec and if they do catch it get the guy closets to the Spec WR and hit him in the air and he will drop it about 8/10 times

I must have bad luck. I slammed his WR's in mid air several times and they still caught it. Right now I'm back on ps2 Madden lol. Damn red lights! Man I forgot how boring the run game is on ps2.

Ya most people have 360 So is there something specific you needed help with?

One play that works Great with man to man coverage is the slant if someone is playing man to man the slant can work all game

Another thing is always look for miss matches know how good most of the players are on the team your playing against if your good with user catch big WRs should always work well

not sure if this helps at all if not or you have a cetain play you need help against ask

I usually use digs to beat man coverage/ Just press up when you throw it. What's the best way to throw the slant? People have told me to user it but I feel I can't take control of the WR fast enough.

The best way is to user, like say you pick the play and it has the slant and you throw it there as soon as you throw it grab the WR move in front of the DB ( if he is in front of you) then keep running the slant and it should work, but it does take some practice try it in practice mode with man to man after a while you should get the hang of it

I've never even needed to expand my offense much. Nobody plays defense on this game that Ive played lol. My passing game is easily my strength. I use my rb's in the flat a lot. More effective than running imo. On ps2 I used only like 3 run plays out of oakland's or houston's pb. Slam, stretch, and once in a while a blast or maybe goal line run. I don't have the same feel for the run game even though I don't exactly need it.

Defense is where I mostly struggle. I've tried my old strategies from ps2 on 360 but not nearly as effective. Stacking linebackers doesn't seem to help me a lot except for some nanos. A lot of peeps run over my oakland run defense so i put 8 in the box or use a run blitz and try to take care of the pass myself but I'll get killed off playaction sometimes. Any 2 or 3 deep plays that can still stop the run?

i havnt played online much, but madden so popular that i always have someone to play against, With the exception of my best friend who we go back and forth with every game, i have yet to have someone beat me using the raiders :P. I really only use about 20 plays on offense and two different d's that shut people down. My defense usually wins my games . So to those of you who wish to bring it on! Come get some in 09! I'll be online back in germany :P
