Hey PS Guru's

I finally scored a decent version of Photoshop (Photoshop CS/ImageReady), and I need a little help.

There's a guy that works as our Division CSM's lead security that made a cool image for the division and he's been kind enough to change it around a bit and give me a copy so I can make signs for our section. But I don't know how to add type. Well, I've figured it out a little bit, but not the way I wanted.

Here's the deal. At the bottom of the image are the words "Joint Visitor's Bureau", I want that taken out, blacked over if you will, so I can add different words, maybe in the same font. Basically change that type to read something else.....and I'm having the darndest time doing so.

Thanks for all the help. And I was thrilled to log on the other day and read of our dismantling of the Bills. Jordan really put on a clinic.

Later.

Hey BW.
It sounds like the text is already merged to the background layer.
If that is the case you may need to use the clone-stamp tool to overwrite that area of the picture/background prior to adding your own text.

Before you do that, use the marquee tool to select only the text area so you don't accidentally paint over more of the pic than you wanted to .
