Raider Tailgaters Wanted

A national television production company is looking for Oakland Raider tailgate fans to participate in a cable television show. The program is about extreme building and design. There is no pay involved, but you will have an opportunity to participate in a 1 hour episode for a major cable network.

Fans must be avid tailgaters and be willing to participate for 2 - 3 days of shooting. We are specifically looking for a close knit group of fans who tailgate together at all or most home games. Please send photos of your group (raider outfits preferred) and a one paragraph description of why you should be selected. Only serious applicants will be considered.

Thanks for the invite, but Raider outfits preferred? 96%-98% of all the tailgaters at the H.O.T. DON'T wear outfits, but this cable television crew wants focus in the 2-4%??? Did I miss something?


There are tons of us (Spider included) who come in every week and set up the grill and lay out a full spread. Me and my folks hook up the old canopy, grill, tables and chairs, television and Playstion 2 every week! Others have the satellite dish mounted on top of their cars so they can watch NFL Ticket for the 10am games. The South Shield sets up a massive FREE BBQ area AND brings their own band (Raiderhead)! None of them are in costume. It looks like this cable network is going to use the footage to only show and exploit the extreme (minority).

I have nothing against those who wear outfits. My good friends Lord Mordrid (image courtesy of ESPN), Afrodisiac. Hell...even the Raiders "Blue Blockers" rappin' dude and the now world famous 'Spike' (courtesy of raiderslinks.com).
These folks are die hard Raiders without a question or a doubt! But let's not assume that only those that dress up are the only ones that are hardcore Raider fans!

I sit with him over in Sec 107 and visit him and the Raider Radio crew over at Ricky's. That dude is hella crazy! I remember when he was nearly having an asthma attack and his lips were almost turning blue. Instead of running to the hospital, he stayed in his seat to watch the rest of the game. Damn...that's hardcore!

Thanks for the information. When I wrote Raider outfits preferred I meant all forms. Raider colors, jersey's etc...We want to see photos of people tailgaiting. Costumes are NOT necessary. It's more about the community and the expertise you provide on the tradition of tailgaiting.
