Hey mike no smack here just wanted to post this so u can see what I was talking about way back when we where talking about ur oline...Newberry isnt healthy and he might not even play again..

Well, had last year not happened as it did, with newberry going out, and Heitmann taking over, you would be correct.

Nolan wisely had Heitmann taking all of the snaps in training camp with the first team, with Newberry playing with backups, just in case this happened. He wanted Heitmann comfortable where he is, and in the event Newberry did make it through camp, he could step in, with his experience.

As it turned out, last years backups playing so much at center helped us out this year. As well, all of those backups who ended up starting last year, when our LT, LG, RG, and RT went down, are now 'seasoned" backups.

What a difference maker Newberry we be for their o-line..,..

I think I was trying to tell you your o-line won't stay healthy all season and it looks like one has bit the bullet before it even has started.

Heitman. One year as center. Did very good job in his rookie year thrown in at center. Now can start no problem..(btw..HE WAS THE CENTER starting in our game last week)

As I stated, Nolan wisely left him in, just in case, as the starter.

Turns out our coach is rather astute, wouldn't you say?

Go pull up your posts about the o-line staying healthy. I believe you claimed Newberry was going to be back in top form (not verbatim). Now you just copy and paste another name into the center with two others flanking each side.

While I did pencil in Newberry, I also stated previously that for the reason Newberry hadn't been able to practice full time, Heitmann was getting full reps with the starters.
he's not Newberry, but he did a good job while learning the position last year.

Now the experience should pay off.
