You call me a lurch hater because I post here rarely, I'm guessing (And because I hate the Raiders which I don't deny). Well, I'm a Broncos fan, so I frequent the Broncos board primarily, but on occasion, I will go the boards of other NFL teams to talk some smack or even have a legit discussion.

Two words. Jake Plummer. The same two words that will keep your beloved burros out of the next SB. Enjoy the season

Well, if we don't win a Superbowl at the end of the year, I'll honestly be disappointed, but I'm very happy to be a fan of a team that is in the hunt every year. It's a great luxury to be a fan of a team that has only had three losing seasons in the last twenty years. Whether we're one of the 31 teams to be wishing we had won the Superbowl or not, it's at least very nice to be one of the teams that has a shot at the Superbowl.

Jake is not the best QB in the league. He's not on the elite level as many of us Broncos fans would like, but he's a good QB. He threw only seven interceptions over the coarse of the regular season and had the seventh highest QB rating. I most certainly would rather have him than Aaron Brooks. The guy was rejected by New Orleans of all teams. By the way, of our QB situation, we've got a good future in the wings for when Plummer is no longer with us.

I'll admit that Anderson was a good runner, but if there is anything that the Broncos have shown it's that we will run and without a LT or a LJ, we will have an elite run game. So, we lost Reuben Droughns. Who cares?? So, we lost Clinton Portis. Who cares?? Do you see my point?? We've been through this before. It's nothing new. We'll still have an elite run game next year and losing Anderson will not affect that. Our team is fantastic at finding and developing running back talent. It's been proven time and again. Smacking on that facet of our team is like smacking your head against a brick wall. You can do it all you like, but it won't change anything. As for Pryce, he used to be a monster back in the day, but since his back injury, he hasn't been as dominant as he once was. He only snagged four sacks last year which tied him with John Lynch for the team lead. Ekuban had the same number of sacks in limited time. Now, with more time, he should be able to ring up more sacks. I wish that we had done more to upgrade our pass rush from last year as a Broncos fan, but all the same, we won't see a dropoff with the departure of Pryce. To be blunt. He isn't THAT good anymore.

So, your players don't learn the system. And once they finally do, they suddenly have a new system to learn and the GM has to start bringing in players to fit that system. It's no coincidence that teams like the Broncos or Colts or Patriots or Steelers or Seahawks who have had success for more than just a year or two have coaches that have been around for quite awhile. Knowing what types of players that a team will need for a given system helps quite a bit in deciding which players to bring in. It also allows for long term planning. Now, you guys should just hope that Art Shell has some success and quick so that Al doesn't decide to start all over again with another washed up coach. Ghagh. I can't call Art Shell washed up. I respect him too much. I mean, I have my questions with him out of coaching for so long, but I also think the man deserves respect. He sure beats the hell out of Norv Turner.
