How exactly are the Raiders gonna beat the Chargers?
...and yes, this is a serious question. I'd like to know what Raidernation thinks that the team needs to do to beat the Chargers on 9/11. I think the game is gonna be close, but IMO, it's entirely up to Rivers how our entire season goes. I think our secondary will be much improved, seroiusly, when you rank ****ing 30th or whatever there's really only one way to go and that's up. Our defensive front seven is possibly the best in the league, and it is always difficult to run on our D. Olshansky has dropped weight but added muscle, gotten much quicker, as has Castillo. Offensively, we all know what LT can do, plus he LOVES to play in Oakland, and always has someting extra for the Raiders. Gates is quickly building a rapport with Phil Rivers, who is looking solid (I'm not even gonna say great during TC until we at least see a game or two), if our O-line holds up, I think our team is going to be very, very dangerous. In the past 3 years our offense has been both explosive and pedestrian on a week to week basis. If they can just be consistent, mave the chains, play tough D, that may be enough. Ou schedule is once again very favorable for a 10+ win season. Honestly, I was a huge Brees supporter, I was sad to see him go, but I understood. He was coming off a major injury to his throwing shoulder and he wanted to get PAID alot of guaranteed money, which the Bolts were not ready to invest into what they considered damaged goods. So please, don't give me this "you lost a pro bowl Qb" argument. He was in the Pro Bowl ONCE, '04, after our 12-4 (favorable) schedule. Brees had a hell of a year in 2004, and being named to the Pro Bowl was his reward, nothing more. BUt think about this one: Jeff Blake was a Pro Bowl QB. Your former QB Kerry Collins was a Pro Bowler. Chris Chandler, Old Man Vinny, even Gus ****ing Freotte was a Pro Bowler for christssakes. The list goes on an on. When I think Pro Bowl QB, I think Marino. I think Montana. I think Elway. I think Farve. I think Manning, Brady, hell, even Gannon when he was there in Oak. I wouldn't even think of putting Brees in Gannon's company, so don't take the Pro Bowl think to serously. He's still gotta shake the rust off that fixed arm of his and prove himself all over again. IMO, the Chargers di the safe thing in going with the unknown in Rivers than the unknown in Brees surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Ask the Jets about that problem.... Anyways, what are the Raiders going to do when the Bolts come to town on 9/11 looking to win the fight?

Hopefully the game won't be blacked out in the Oakland area, and all the losers in the worst part of the bay, will witness Aaron Brooks matching his ugly play in New Orleans, Mandy Moss getting hurt again, Jerry Porter sittin on the bench, and finally Merriman crushing your elementry school offensive attack. Dude...It won't be close It's hilarious to hear you fools think you have a better team than you had last year. Or that Jenny Craig (Art Shell) has the rididulous power to save this awful franchise. It's gonna be a long season dude...The Faiders will invent ways to lose, and suck doing it. SUCKS TO BE YOU

2. Are you saying Rivers is gonna help you win the game? How? He'll have to throw 5 INTs for that to happen. I doubt he throws more than 20 passes in the game, to be honest. It will be LT, LT, and more LT. 3. He's a good one. But unless he's gonna cover Gates, blitz Rivers, take on Lorenzo Neal's blocks, and watch LT coming out of the backfield all at the same time, then the Oak D is onna need more than 1 awesome LB to stop our offense.

2. lt will be lt i will give you that but rivers will have to help him and if you think he's going to come into our house with art shell as head coach and not get punished for his inexperience you are greatly mistaken 3. we got faster and healthier at line backer are defenders are back to playing thier rightful positions and we finally have a real starting strong safety

Bottom line, your D was suspect to begin with, you lost some quality guys, you're plugging in rookies, who using your own logic, will "get punished for his inexperience". There are only 2 guys on your D who worry me, Burgess, becasue he's a beast, and Morrison, who only getting better. Everyone else is MEH. I think it's gonna be a good opportunity for Rivers to get a ton of confidence which will carry him throughout the season.

Rivers is going to see an eight man fronts until he shows the Raiders defense that he could throw the football down the field. So he's the key to the chargers not tomlinson, gates, or McCardell.
The Raiders have a similar situation if Walter's our starter come Sept 11....IMO

If the Raiders D shows NO RESPECT for Rivers arm, he will make them pay.

we will see come September 11.... I have no doubt that the charger secondary will still have issues even though I think the McCree pickup was a solid one. Jammer so far has been a 1st round bust and Randy Moss will fly by pass him as always.
