many QBs have had terrific pre seasons and have bombed out in the regular season

i dont think Rivers will be one of those but im hoping he will be

I'm just saying....Knocking Green Bay's starting defense in light of Oakland's doesn't exactly make a whole hell of a lot o' sense....

Yea....our defense wont be as easy to knock around. Its a brand new year....i cant wait till the 11th.

I think we will have an improved defense this season. But I don't think we match up to the Chargers' offense at this point -- with the caveat that Rivers must of course play as well when the games start counting as he did last night. But I think the real mismatch will be on the other side of the ball. I have to admit you guys have the best front seven in the game right now. Too be honest, I am already cringing at what might happen when our offense is on the field on Sept. 11. I don't like Brooks. I was dead-set against our signing him (I wanted Josh McCown or Leinart). And I think Walsh is going to be overmatched badly. It makes me want to cry, actually.

Anyways.....If you can't see the Raiders' defensive problems....especially against the run, you're either delusional or just an eternal optimist....That's a huge problem. You don't win games if you can't stop other teams from running the ball down your throat.

You either stop the run, or you don't....There is no "pleasently suprising for us".....Defenses demonstrate the ability to stop the run well in advance of when the real games start. It doesn't magically happen at some point.

Exactly its not like the Chargers oen day said hey lets be good against the run. Now we are good against the run and pass. We may just be the best team in the NFL. Especially since Rivers WILL play well.

Raiders beat the Chargers?

Sure why not.
One imo the weakest teams in the AFC West but I think they can shock the Chargers out of thier boots.

You little Raider hate'n hoes can talk all the **** you want. Like it or not, the Raiders will be tough to beat this year. Mr. Shell is driving the 18 wheeler now and he will run through many on his way to the big dance. We might not get there this year, but we are just a couple pieces of the puzzle away from dominating the AFC West again. See you chumps on 9/11. Until then, here's something that will happen after your regular season ends, and again, no playoffs...

I am no Raider hater I am here to talk football though.

And to say a couple of pieces to the puzzle is nothing close its more like a bunch of pieces to filling the puzzle:

You guys are pretty much set at WR and your RB situation is fine

QB situation needs alot of work

Your O line is well...

You guys need definate help in the D line with the exeption of Burgess when he passrushes.

Your linebackers? Nothing.

Your corners and safeties are pretty,eh average at best.

Don't count on the Raiders beating the Broncos anytime soon.
