Al Davis has lost it and needs to give up his power
What has Al Davis done to help this team since we were in the Super Bowl? He's drafted more speedsters that were not the best fit for our team, put together a weak defense with aging veterans on the decline, thrown out a shoddy line led by Kerry Collins, and doesn't even let the coaches choose their coaching staff.
When we were in the Super Bowl, we had energetic coaches and upper management (Jon Gruden, Bruce Allen). But Al Davis threw them out because Al likes to run this team like an emperor, and won't let the coaches/management do their thing. There comes a time when a leader has to step down or relinquish his power, and that time should have been 5 years ago. As it stands, Al Davis refuses to give up any of his power, and that is severely hampering our team. A good team needs good coaching and good upper management. Davis is not managing the team well, and we'll never have good coaching because Davis wants too much control and nobody really good wants to coach here. So for that reason, the Raiders will never be great until the day Al Davis relinquishes his power or steps down. Al just needs to hang it up and stop running this team into the ground.

Grabbing players can turn out to be a crap-shoot. Then, there's the chemistry involved. Al Davis may be slowing down but regardless, he's Al Davis and true Raiders Fans respect that. The Raiders are what they are because, of Al Davis. You can't just take the good-times, bad-times come along with that. How's about Al Davis drafting a Major League Baseball player named Bo, knowing he's only going to get half a season out of him? Brilliant! Otherwise, Al Davis has the 3rd largest payroll but only, the 27th earning revenue power. That's pretty tricky and shows Al only cares about...well....we know! "Just Win - Baby"! blah blah blah, whine whine whine, im so tired of reading these threads, HEY THERE HAVE BEEN TEN OF THESE THREADS IN THE LAST MONTH POST IN THOSE PLEASE INSTEAD OF STARTING A NEW ONE EVERYTIME YOU WANT TO BASH THE OWNER.
You know i agree Al doesnt make the best decisions but he loves this team like a fan and he trys to do whats best and make us a winning football team. Be happy we arent owned by the Yorks or by the Bidwells they never even reach the cap cause they are cheap and could care less how well the team does.

don't get me started about Gruden - we had a good chance of making the SB if it hadn't been for the tuck rule. And if he had stayed on another year we may have won the SB, since Callahan was a fuccking joke of a coach.
The Al Davis of old knew how to put together a winning team. We had some of the best teams in the history of football. But that Al Davis is gone, and as much as he loves the team he needs to realize that he's just hurting the team by running it like a freakin dictatorship.

I want what's best for this team, and it would be best if Al Davis stepped down, relinquished his power, stopped driving away coaches, and stopped running the team into the ground. Anyone who knows something abotu football knows that.

Your so right man I loved the Al Davis from 2002 but that man is dead hes not the same guy. Since 2002 he lost his mind and forgot everything he knows about football. Give me a fvcking break, we all have dry spells.
