Mike Vick overrated

Personally I think Micheal Vick is the most overrated player in the NFL. It is just embarissing for all those Falcon Fans who embrace this idiot. First of all he is not a consistent player he can either run or pass in a game but can never do both in the same game. Also apparently he is a bad team player meaning that he is always the last to a meeting and the first to leave and does not study film like he is supposed to. His running ability has regressed this yeaf by nearly 400 yards and even though he had a bad knee that what happens when you run first and pass second. Also when he started to throw more later in the season they lost most of their games. This is just my opinion but what do you guys think about him?

I think the falcons can be very entertaining to watch, because of him. Over rated? well, If I hated the falcons, I might say the same. he is kind of a scum bag from what Im reading about him in the Media, his kid brother is worse.

Hey, are the saints thinking about merging into the Arena league? they might be able to actually win a couple of games. EIther that or get rid of your owner.

The NFL in general is a zoo now... but I think its good to have the perspective of other fans to occaisonaly provide unbiased opinions, but if they ever get out of hand, they should be banned. (Rhyme intended)

Montreal, the Falcons Fans don't have anything else to hold on to but Mike Vick!! I had a discussion with this guy Saturday night about how the Falcons suck. All he could talk about was Vick. Vick is a great running back, and has a arm to throw, just doesn't know what team he needs to throw to. He also doesn't have a great WR core to throw to.

And Arch, don't knock the Arena League! New Orleans did have a AFL team, but after Katrina they moved to KC

Yeah, but the bad part is even with Vick, they have NEVER EVER had 2 winning seasons in a row.

Well look at it this way, WERE the raiders losing because of Collins and Norv? Maybe you could say that they were the ones keeping them from winning like Mike Vick is helping the Falcons win. Oh and the Saints , not even B.V.B. could make them winners sorry. :irish:

Yea part of that is Vick has never stayed healthy for 2 seasons in a row lol, give Vick a WR like T.O. and I bet his QB rating shoots up like Mcnabb did, look how awful Mcnabb looked statistically before T.O. came.. he went from a 70 QB rating to over 100, I doubt Vick will touch 100 but give him a T.O. or two good WRs or even a potentially good WR like Santonio Holmes in the draft and in time Vick will be in the 80s with his QB rating, and still winning games with his feet... why throw when you can win a game with your feet right? thats all that matters is the wins, and Vick has been winning them a lot more games then he has lost.

The ATL D is mediocre, there Blocking, WR Corp.. not that good, its all been Vick, Dunn, Duckett, and Crumpler with a few big names on D but there best player remains Michael Vick.

A New Orleans fan from Canada no less. I, too, was wondering what the heck was going on here. I have always thought Vick overrated, that his mediocre quarterback skills garnered him more praise than he deserves. But this last season the commentators finally started giving Vick the credit he deserves, which is not much.

That said, Jim Mora Jr. is trying to force Vick to be more like the prototypical NFL QB, which Vick is not. I think Vick would be more successful if they allowed him to play the game in his style.

However, even then, while he might provide some exciting footage for NFL Primetime (which is gone this season, I know), overall I still don't think Vick could carry the Falcons very far. I think defenses have caught up to Vick, learned how to contain him after his first few years in the league. And that is why I am skeptical a bit about Vince Young -- he's not a polished passer at all and his running ability will not carry him as far in the NFL as it has in college.
