#1--I've had the stomach flu that's been going around down here in Southeast Georgia, so I've spent much of my time sleeping (if not puking)... #2--Due to my conservative beliefs, I have the tendency to piss some people off on this BBS. Maybe I do look at the world in rose-coloured glasses sometimes, and don't really put myself in the shoes of others. So be it. I'll admit it, there are some really backwards people in the world today....and it seems that as time goes forward, the mentality never changes. Laws get put into place to make people equal. It was even in our Constitution, a document that was written at the height of American slavery. Simply because something is put on paper doesn't mean it goes away overnight. The piss-poor attitudes remain. I hate racist people. It's disgusting that people aren't even given a chance to prove what kind of people they are before they even shake hands and say "hello". Folks take one look at someone and think, "Oh wow...a typical (fill in racial slur here)..." So what is it gonna take? Make up laws that force people to give others a fair shake? That may work in the short term, but in my honest opinion, it only adds fuel to the fire. "The Man" becomes hostile at being forced to change his ways....and his attitude gets handed down to generations. Maybe that's why I'm so against Affirmative Action: It fights racism with racism. It keeps hate alive and kicking. And that's where the real problem with racism lies: it is handed down...it's not something that people are born with. Finally, I'm sorry that you've been discriminated against, but that's not my fault. I wasn't the one who did it, but you seem to have the belief that once some azzhole did it to you, then everyone is gonna do it. Wrong way to think, brutha. Anyways....this thread is gonna get locked, I know it. I'm not gonna have this conversation on a PM, and I'm not going to respond to this thread anymore because I don't want to get banned from this site. One more thing: Don't accuse someone of being "racist" or "ignorant" just because their opinion is different than yours.

I agree that laws can't change how people feel but I also can say that has laws not been passed in the 60s things would never have changed. So they served there purpose then and in a way they do now. Things have gotten better but there is still room for all of us to grow. As far as calling you racist I didn't. I did refer to you as ignorant and all ignorant means is lacking knowledge. In some ways we are all ignorant and so I pointed out somethings that you may not know. Sorry if I pissed you off with my comments before, but it is kinda like this... As Raider fans we get used to getting the raw deal from the refs, so when someone like the Patriots complain about bad calls, it is hard to feel sorry for them. Now our team still holds responsibilty for wins and losses but it still makes you mad... Also I know that not everyone that is white-American is evil, unfortunely we all tend to base our opinions on the A44holes we meet. I don't blame you because you have never personally done anything to me... except the negative rep points That said let's put our differences aside and get to talking about what we are hear for... Go Raiders!!!

It's 2006 and we are still having this talks. That is what bothers me the most. We are all football fans. We have that in common. Most of us here have kids here. I try to keep the race thing away from my kids. We are all humans who all bleed red. We are all living in America which means we are all Americans. For the ones that do not live in the states. I hope like hell you dont have the race thing going on in your country like we do here. When I look at people I dont look at the color of their skin. That does not make a person. It's what's in your heart. I dont care if you are black, white, yellow pink or blue. If you are a respectable person with good in your heart. You are ok by me.

"The poverty rate among black families fell from 87 percent in 1940 to 47 percent in 1960, during an era of virtually no major civil rights legislation or anti-poverty programs. It dropped another 17 percentage points during the decade of the 1960s and one percentage point during the 1970s, but this continuation of the previous trend was neither unprecedented nor something to be arbitrarily attributed to the programs like the War on Poverty. "In various skilled trades, the incomes of blacks relative to whites more than doubled between 1936 and 1959 -- that is, before the magic 1960s decade when supposedly all progress began. The rise of blacks in professional and other high-level occupations was greater in the five years preceding the Civil Rights Act of 1964 than in the five years afterwards." Link

I predict a Ronald Reagan day is in the future.............cmon.....this is a football site....go talk to your governor or state rep.....all I know is this...your not going to solve ANY of those issues here.....put your fervor and passion into making a positive change if thats what you believe but by god Im here to talk football....or at the very least QUIT teasing me in to read your post and put a proper title on your thread so I can choose to ignore your political banter.....maybe something like "this is a white and black debate"......I call the post idiotic to even post it here...for someone that tries to show intelligence and PROOVE his intellect.......Im not sticking up for your foe...just saying your post is NO better for it takes 2 to tango.....and this is Raiderfans.net.....so at least TITLE your intelligent threads properly
