For your information homie, unless you are talking about live football action, everything you speak about your team is going to be from SOME point in the past. Wether it be 1 minute ago to 10 years ago. Unless you're speaking about one's future...and even that is all wishful thinking.

Also, when a team and its fanbase has a history of whoopin ass and taking names at ANY time, its a distinction of pride to mention it from time to time. It is in those teams, that have a POOR history or who have accomplished NOTHING since its inception, is who's fans always talk about what could have been or focus on meaningless victories in what boils down to a failure of a season (Chargers of ANY year except the one SB appearance against the 49ers).

Good post Dee, Every team, person LIVES in the past to some extent, You are someone who needs to look in the past for any positives also. So trying to call out Raider fans for that is not bright at all. Then again maybe you meant something else with the leave comment?

lighting, first of all you cant spell..so take off about 5 years on that 34 age..so now we have 29, second you said you were a raider fan for 26 years then switched to the chargers before they were winning, so for that to be true you started becoming a raider fan when you were 1 year old, and become a chargers fan when you were 28..wow

The Raiders beat the Oilers 27-7 in the first playoff game. It was very memorable because Ken Stabler QB'd the oilers. The Raiders then beat the Browns in the old municipal stadium 14-12. Mike Davis intercepted the ball with less than a minute to go in the game with a wind chill under -40. Sam Rutigliano (who would later get the name Riverboat Sam for his stupid gambles) was worried wthat the weather was so bad that Don ****roft (the Browns kicker) would not even be able to kick a short field goal. Brian Sipe threw the interception.

By beating the Browns the Raiders played the Chargers in OC (yes I call all fluffy places with frontrunning fans the OC). The first TD of the game was a miraculous pass to Raymond Chester that bounced off of two Charger defenders for a 70 yard touchdown pass; the Raiders won 34-27 with Jim Plunkett having a great game.

They went on to win the superbowl against Philly and Mr. Davis took the trophy from Pete Rozelle; even though the Raiders had a 35 million dollar lawsuit against the NFL.
