What we learned from the playoffs....

Defense wins games...but more specifically

GET IN THE %($%*^($%*^_ing posterchild Quarterback's face!!!
whether its brady or manning or who ever the fag.....knock him on his ass....as we saw in the denver game, even if he completes a few and burns you on a few blitzes, it more than makes up for it when he GETS SCARED because of the hits he's taken....by the end of the game brady was over throwing and throwing too early cuz he was ****ting his pants lol....even that INT to chump was because he saw that defender gearing up to knock his ass off...

and more on this: Indy; the chargers got up in his face and manning was worthless, same for the steelers through 3 quarters...UNTIL their retarded d coord started rushing three in stead of the 5 or 6 theyd been sending.....and BAM manning is himself again???? coincidence????hmmmm

i dont understand how ANY person paid to make these decisions continues to do it and get hired: DONT EVER RUSH 3!!!!!!!
Hell even 4 isnt enough! BLITZ THE $#%^ out of who ever it is!!! people might say thats its risky against a good QB, but that is horse****.....the one time he burns you pales in comparison to the hits you put on that panzy and the bad throws he eventually makes...

and wouldnt you rather go down fighting on D then get nibled to death while you rush 4 and get picked apart????? not me.

in other words this is why mr rob ryan must go (lol) because i realized today that mr ryan doesnt believe in blitzing....which is retarded....which is why he must go...

one more thing: grit and being mean and nasty wins in the playoffs...this is why the attacking defenses like denver and pittsburg will always beat panzy finnes teams...

to me it seems that saunders fits more of the finness mold than pat hill does.....wat a shame.....

Defense doesn't win games.

Defense keeps you in games. Offence wins you games.

Watch Chicago.. defense is keeping them in it but there offense can't score.
Carolina's defense keeps them in it, offense wins it.

Just proves that until we protect the QB, or offense will struggle. Manning sure looked average today. Thats what happens when you have people in your face.

Thumbs up The Patriots have proved it: Defense wins championships

The Patriots have proved it: Defense wins championships. Other than this year due to injuries, the Patriots always stop people when they have to. Look at the playoff teams. The main thing that puts them over the top now is their defense. The Colts defense played well this year and they had a great season. Washington and the Bears offenses are terrible but the defense does it for them.

If offense wins Championships then over the years, the present Colts, The Chargers of the 80's, and the present Bengals would each have superbowl wins if not several. Ask the Rams when they lost to the Patriots if offense wins championships. The Steelers defense just was awesome. Ben Rothliesberger doesn't do anything special to win games. They run the ball and play defense. The Raiders and 49ers won their superbowls by dominating defensively.

The Raiders have been stupid. They constantly try to draft fast DB's when they should be drafting stud LB's and DL's. If you have a pass rush, they you don't have to cover very long and turnovers are the result. The Patriots dominate the Colts in the playoffs because they rush the passer. I bet on the Steelers today because they do the same in the playoffs. The Raiders have high draft choices and it's ridiculous they don't do better in the draft.

The draft this year is loaded with good DL's and LB's. The Raiders need to draft way better; If they can't get 2 starters on D this draft I give up. With their high draft choices they should have studs.

Rob Ryan is way overrated. With a team like the Patriots success, all of a sudden everyone associated with that Patriots are geniouses. Rob Ryan loves the 3-4 and occasionally blitzes. Not good if the weakness of your defense in your linebackers. In the NFL, if a QB has time, he will beat you.

EXACTLY

this Defense wins games crap is ridiculous, defense doesnt win you games, offense doesnt win you games, the team that plays the better football will win the game period! it doesnt matter if its on defense, or on offense, and I mean the TEAM that plays the better football, I dont mean the individuals.. I mean the TEAM.

you cant win with a defense and no offense, and you cant win with an offense and no defense.. its a Team game.

The Bears, Steelers, and Panthers havent won a championship! wth are you talking about??? go count how many teams with the #1 ranked defense have won the superbowl since 1990, if im not mistaken the number is THREE.
and if the bears dont win it this year.. then thats another season of a team without the #1 ranked defense winning the superbowl... like I said its not offense or defense that wins superbowls.

your only looking at the top rated,,,,

what about the #3 or 4 or 5 rated defenses? ya obviosly you need to score....

im not about to say that you have to draft the best talent on D only and try to win with a crappy qb (ala chicago)....

but all im saying is: rob ryan is crap, he doesnt blitz....and the playoffs have proven that blitzing is what neutralizes the posterchild qbs!!!

AND that if pat hill is pittsburg...then al saunders is probly gonna be like indy....

NO TOUGHNESS!!!

i want our coach to be huddling up with his linebackers yelling "i dont $#%&ing care!!! put that manning fag on his #$%&ing ASS!!!!"
REAL RAIDER football!!!

Co-sign!

To piggy back, you need balance. A decent D with a decent O can do the job!

Ask any NFL coach would you want a great defense or a great offense

Ask any NFL coach would you want a great defense or a great offense and the great defense would win almost every time.

Of course you need some sort of an offense. That's pretty obvious, but if the other team can't move the ball, you win the field position game and your offense plays on a shortened field. If offense wins, why did the Raiders suck so bad. Their defense is a joke and can't stop anyone when they have to.

Pittsburgh and the Bears won championships due to their awesome defenses in the past; Their going back to their glory days. The Chargers of the 80's may have had the greatest offense of all time as well as the Colts for 3-4 years now; and the Bengals have great offenses as well. Not many superbowls.

Every analyst and player and ex-player says the same thing. Defense wins championships. Of course you want to have a balanced team, but rarely is that possible. The Steelers stopped the Colts when they had to today and their kicker missed a long field goal. The Broncos dominated the Patriots by putting pressure on the great Tom Brady. That's what it's about.
