The Raiders have replaced the Chargers as the AFC West's doormat. They are on their way to becoming the AFC's doormat, and replacing the Bungles as the most pathetic franchise in the NFL is on the horizon. As long as Al Davis remains in control -- that is how long the Raiders will stay at the bottom.
I don't think any Raiders fans honestly expect their team to be anything more until Davis is gone. What basis do you have for hope? Here it is, getting toward late January. The Raiders still have no head coach. Al is waiting for all the other coaching vacancies to be filled, so whomever he decides on has no leverage. Al will then low-ball him. He will be a candidate who was passed over by other teams. All the crack coordinators and assistants have already been snapped up. The Raiders new head coach, whoever the poor sucker is, will have to make do with the dregs that are left. Tell me Raiders fans, do you honestly have optimism for the future of your team given these circumstances, given Al Davis' track record over the past decade? So talk all you want about how bad the Chargers were in previous decades. You want to know suffering? Just keeping rooting for the Raiders. They are on track to redefine "pathetic" in the NFL. |

Man do you really understand anything you read? ...or write for that matter, because you make no sense at all. First off the Broncos are the only ones I excluded from acting like the Raider games are a Superbowl to them. Second I wasn't talking so much about the coaches as I was the fans of these teams. And seeing how it always seems to be some awesome accomplishment I do take it as beating us is a prize when you hear things like " Well we didn't make it to the playoffs but we swept the Raiders" what is the focus on in this statement? As far as being swept by our division, Being a 49er fan I don't really think you have much room to talk there, sweeping a second place 6-10 St.Louis team doesn't really warrant a pat on the back, at least the other teams in our division all had winning records. Oh and that ass stomping the Redskins gave ya a team the Raiders beat, Oh did I mention the spanking the Titans gave the niners( another team we beat). For a guy who doesn't have much to talk about , you sure have alot to say. but then again I guess there really isn't much to talk about at the niners forum except for maybe " well we didn't make it to the playoffs but at least the Raiders didn't have a better record than us" .....Right? Nothing better to talk about in the offseason. Might as well have some fun. I always love the little Raider ironies. |

My guess is that if that happens, the Chargers will be still be without a championship, Spygate will be celebrating it's 50th anniversary, Ladainian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers will re-invent the roles of Grumpy Old Men and Al Davis will still be alive, using a walker with little jet propellers on it's adamantium legs as he overpays for free agent Ocho Cinco Johnson, Jr. |

Tell you what, it's a wash. The Raiders have never been bad for THAT long, but the Chargers have never been THIS bad for this long. |

'72 -'76 / 19 wins in 5 seasons. '66 - '77 / 12 seasons with only once exceeding the .500 (9 wins). '82- '91 / 10 consecutive seasons without breaking .500. '96 - '03 / 8 Consecutive seasons the Dolts cannot break .500. including the stellar performance of the 2000 season going 1-15. Franchise record of .497 If you going to be on the 'Best team to have an empty trophy case' bandwagon, at least you might want to know a little about the team of which preverbial balls you dangle from.
