The O-line is not good period ! Simms and Stone need to go, Gallery and Grove are still learning, if they are learning from Simms and Stone ....there lies the problem. It takes about 3 years for most players to find their groove in the NFL, calling Gallery a bust at this point in time.........is a waste of time.

I was at the game yesterday, and Gallery is the last guy I would call out on that line. He played pretty solid games yesterday and last week at SD. Two points:

1-What is in the water out there in Oakland that makes coaches think Barry Sims is Art Shell? Why did Gruden, Callahan, and now Turner constantly leave the guy on an island against the likes of Rice, Taylor, and Abraham? It didn't work 5 years ago and it doesn't work now! Everyone freaks out if Gallery gets pancaked once every few weeks but Sims is getting ABUSED!

2- Coletto must go. I made a point of watching the bench after that terrible three sack in a row series in the second half. The o-line came over and sat down (with the exception of Gallery, who was pacing and working on his footwork), and I was waiting for Coletto to get in their face and do something. Nope. He left them alone, it seemed like he was trying to avoid them! Finally five minutes later he sauntered over with his clipboard and started diagramming some things, but looked completely stoic, I just don't get it.

One more thing about the o-line; they just don't hold their blocks! It may be obvious on tv when you're watching the passing game, but it's equally true in the running game. There were a bunch of running plays where it looked like Lamont would get 5-7 yards and he wound up with three because these guys don't hold their blocks!

Coletto must go. These are essentially the same guys who gelled into a good o-line in the second half of last season! What happened?!?...

too early to call tmen busts,but they have definately dissapointed.i agree where is this mean streak/attitude they both were said to have.i feel they willprogress,but we sure need some new faces in there with them next year.or everyone can just blame it on collins

Jake Grove is not as mean and nasty as every one has portrayed him to be either. He was supposed to be this great run block with a mean streak, I have yet to see that at all.
Adam Treu may be a good long snapper but the guy flat out does not get it done as a starter. I especially like the play were he stood there not blocking any one and watched Jordan get tackled in the backfield.

HELL NO!!

Gallery (and to a lesser extent Grove) will fall under the umbrella of Kennedy, Ogden, Pace. All who took 3-4 years to develop into elite players. Very very very very few OLmen come out of college to dominate immediately in the NFL, those that did had an excellent supporting OL cast.

Gallery has done well in the last few games. He has done well (not great) against many upscale DEs/DTs with a few notable exceptions. Sims, however, has sucked bad.

next year -- Gallery, Hutchinson, Treu, Grove, Ephraim
Salaam or Stockar McDougle

For the finicky fans with limited football knowledge, I stress that I would not put Gallery in this category just yet. I recommend that you do some research on Orlando Pace and Lincoln Kennedy's careers. Once you have looked at all the facts than come back and smack with me...

Thank you. Gallery and Grove are not busts. I would put them at LT and C now and leave them there, but of course it aint my decision!!

On the topic at hand, I don't think it's time to call Gallery a bust. All this talk about Gallery not being able to beat out Sims is an overused excuse. Sims took the LT position in the pre-season, but does not appear to have earned a spot there next year. Gallery is a second-year player, playing out of position and trying to learn a position that's EXACTLY opposite of where he played for 3 years. He sucked his first year at LT at Iowa too. But he learned and he'll learn again.

Didn't bother me, in fact it made me chuckle a lil bit.....Robert isn't a bust, but he can and should be playing better thats all!!!

Gallery is in a slump this season. He has a horrible supporting cast and he has been beat a few times by some defensive lineman.

I think he needs to put on some weight and hit the weight room to improve his strength. I think Collato needs to go. It seems like all our o-lineman have gotten worse from last season.

Ogden and Pace did struggle for a few years before they started dominating. Tackle is a tough position in the NFL and Gallery will learn a few tricks and be all right. I think it is way too premature to call him a bust, but yes he has disappointed us this year, no doubt about it.
