Well Pat, I went to Ohio for Christmas to spend with my bf's family. We had to ride up to Cleveland to pick up his nephew. We drove around and he showed me where he grew up at and you know what, I don't give a rats ass about stats!!! OAKLAND AIN'T GOT **** ON CLEVELAND

That place has blocks and blocks of abandoned buildings, people hanging out on the streets on CHRISTMAS DAY!! The place is infested with crime, even the old mayor is in jail and guess what...so is his son for murder. You have to see it to believe it........ we were on Euclid, Superior, 162nd. Oakland at least is moving up, NOTHING can help Cleveland!

Ohhhhh and to top it off, we were in the car and a OJ type Bronco was in front of us, opened up his door and just keep driving. Some guy walked up to the door and they were talking for a minute, the truck went right. As we were stopped at the light a car pulled into a gas station and was bummed rushed by the guy and 2 other guys that came out of no where. I was "WTF is going on?" My bf was like "oh looks like they selling crack to that car" I was like "How did they know he wanted to buy it" He was like "they must be a phine, they know the phines" I seen an actual crack sell!! TF

Only time I got out of the car was to go get his nephew, and what I said a about crazy women from Cleveland.....his mom is one of them!

I have never seen anything like it, and have kicked in Oakland, my best friend lives in East Oakland. So what I said stands true stat or no stat I seen that sh*t for myself!! :

Cleveland is brutal, you'll get no argument from me there. The Flats is a nice area, though.

But your anecdotal story, one I fully believe, still doesn't replace scientific figures. The fact remains that as a percentage of its population, Oakland suffers from violent crime more than Cleveland does. Seeing examples of Cleveland's suckiness does not negate that fact. You seem smart enough to know that one single experience doesn't stand up to scientific proof.

Sorry--Cleveland may suck, but so does Oakland. At least Oaklanders have San Francisco and Marin County nearby to escape to, if they're so inclined. In Cleveland your only real choices are Columbus and Cincinnati, neither of which is particularly convenient. Columbus is kinda growing, but Cincinnati has all the charm of Beirut during a Hizbollah convention.

You know what I love about this type of thread? It's that the people who come on here and make every attempt at smack-talk are NEVER to be seen again once their team fails to make the playoffs. You've all seen them, the Browns fans, the Charger fans, the Dolphin fans, all of them! Funny how they have that talent of actually fitting their foot in their mouths and still leaving room for Stuffed Crow. I guess with the type of franchises they are supporting, they have had a ton of practice!

Stats really have no relevence when all crimes that are commited aren't reported. Do you really think all crime in those type of areas get reported? I'm sure people are MISSING that have NEVER been found. I would love to spend a day in Oakland...Thieveland on the other hand, I couldn't get out of there fast enough......Like I said before Oakland is rebuilding and getting it together.
