Gallery = Tony Mandarich & a Bust ~ MERGED

I too, have been disappointed by Gallery. He clearly isn't the dominating line-man he was built up to be. The most telling sign is, he hasn't progressed from last year to now. The entire O-line seems to be lacking, either in scheme, technique, or just plain desire. It's hard to single out a specific problem but ultimately, the team's performance is the responsibility of the Head Coach.

Thank you. If anyone watched the Ravens Colts game this earlier this yr Ogden had a hell of a time defending D Freeney. He had like 4-5 false starts just trying to get a jump on him.

A QB being a bust. Sure. Tim Couch, Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith. But an O Lineman selected at #2 overall? Wow. But but but what about the ONE TIME he blocked two defenders at once? What about that? And he looks so cool with long hair, and he's 6-11 and 500 lbs. WHATEVER. KID CAN'T PLAY. Go back to eating corn and beef son, you're not cut out for the NFL.

RG has gotten his a$$ handed to him on several occasions this year by LINEBACKERS. Duane Clemmons knocked him on his a$$, Willie McGinest friggin POUNDCAKED him straight to the turf. EVERY SINGLE DE he's faced has owned him. He's absolutely horrible.

Countless false starts, I couldn't watch the game yesterday was in LA, and had no radio broadcast, but I'm sure he had a couple. He just lacks the tenacity. Maybe it's the coaching. But this kid has no fire in him at all. He sucks.

I don't consider him a bust..I just think he is out of his natural position and our Guards have been terrible so he has tried to do too much..

IMHO... the kid needs to grow into that frame of his... he looks light in the a$$.... hit the wieghts and eat alot more... I think he will be fine at either tackle postion... just put some pounds on !!

I disagree with your post. I don't think he's a bust and neither is Grove or Stu for that matter. But you made it quite clear that you don't care to hear a logical response with you buh buh buh statement! He's struggled this year along with 80-90% of the team.

Good players don't become bad overnight, and Gallery is good. Our entire line is playing terrible. To me that would indicate that our the problem is not with the talent but with the scheme. Coletto's zone blocking scheme has been a total bust for us

his flaws in college were he plays too tall, and doesnt get enough push off his legs...

It takes a couple of years to learn that position in the NFL, playing OL takes intelligence and experience contrary to what most people think. People said the same stuff about Pace I recall, and for a few years. And even Mandarich had a decent career in the league, he just wasn't ever able to live up to all the pre-draft hype.

An OL is also only as good as it's weakest link and it's scheme. Remember that last year in SD we were supposed to have one of the worst OLs in the history of the NFL AND college, yet the same crew that stunk so bad in 2003 played like champs in 2004 and continue playing well today, despite all the injuries.

He'll be a good lineman in time but I get the feeling he'll never live his draft hype down unless he starts doing the work of two linemen. Hopefully by then you will have given him to us for a fourth rounder to be named later.

F.Y.I. Courtney Anderson is a tight end, which is an extension of our offensive line. He is not part of the o-line itself.
