Yeah who overturned his "repremand"? Callahand TRIED to make the penalty severe like it should have been, but Al jumped in and fixed it.

Funny, someone mentioned Romo, Rice, and um Moss? How would you know? Raiders havent had anyone calling the shot other than Al Davis for a LONG time. Moss I agree was a great trade, but would you argue that Romo was great? Rice? I mean the guys were good in their hay-day, but by the time they got to the Raiders they were ready to retire. I could think of 50 other players I would have liked to go after in recent years over age 37 Jerry Rice or age 30 whatever Bill Romanowski. Maybe because of Cap issues thats all he could afford, but for a while there it looked like Al was trying to assemble a team of senior citizen has-beens. The only one that seemed to work out for us was Gannon (talkin about ageless wonder free agents). As for Al's ability to spot talent, give me a break. Aside from Gallery and maybe Woodson, who else has been worth a crap thats still on the team since the 2000 draft?

Woodson is overrated and Gallery is still learning. I like Gallery, not hot on Mewood.

I think what Im trying to say is Al Davis controls MORE of his team than any other owner will on their own teams.

Al does the scouting
Al does the drafting
Al does the firing
Al does the hiring
Al TRYS to do the coaching from that booth

Read some of the interviews with former coaches before you start flaming me as an a$$hole blah blah blah. I think Shannahan wrote a book and told all about Al Davis. I could care less what Raider fanbois think of me. I am a Raider fan, I love the team, I do *not* like Al Davis, and just like some of you dont like KC, or the Broncos, we all have the right to our opinion. Ive had enough of Al Davis. I had enough of him when he benched Marcus Allen and ruined his career. I had enough of him when he moved back to Oakland from Los Angeles. I had enough of him when he blew drafts and passed over good players to get "speedy" no-talent ass clowns. The sooner he steps down, the sooner we can turn this team around and get a coach to come in with the control he deserves and kick our teams ass with some good discipline and good coaching. Note to Al - Listen to your coaches, give them power to make decisions. If anyone needs to be fired, its YOU.

Thats all.

we brought in rice, and had the #1 Ranked offense and yet you still would of taken someone else?
Romo was a VERY good LB for us during his stay and you would still take someone else?
and I would like for you to back up your statement about woodson being overrated.

In his eyes he is underrated. Nobody other than Raiderfans seem to think he's any good. He wont get the money he wants. He's injury prone and his numbers dont warrant the big contract. They have declined whether it be from injury or just poor play, numbers dont lie. When you are paying someone big money like that it does you no good if they are hurt or pissed about contracts all the time.

You think he's worth 6-7 mill a year? Thats what he wants.

I'm in total agreement.

Roughing the passer, unsportsmanlike conduct, unnecessary roughness....I can deal with those penalties....they intimidate the opponent and can change the course of a game. 15 yards? Fines? Who'll remember it? All that matters is the "W" on the board.

False start...encroachment...holding...block in the back....those are stupid mental errors that are taught at the peewee league.

Those are the ones that kill us over and over again. I'm to the point where watching the game isn't fun anymore because I know a penalty is going to stall our drive, or give the other team a break. Especially in big games...
Fine the players for the idiotic mistakes and send the money to the players favorite charity. You'll see the mistakes go down for sure... You have to hit them where it hurts the most - the wallet.

Gruden's teams were heavily penalized and that followed him right to Tampa Bay.

Do your research, this has been the "Raiders" for the last 20 years. So stfu.

I see, so unless Im jumping up and down happy about the Raiders play and worshiping Al Davis, I dont have the right to my opinion? Thats what sucks about these boards, and Im not a NEW member I just dont post often (might be a good thing, wouldnt want to hurt your feelings). Anytime someone attempts to post a conflicting view that isnt in the eyes of the fanboi "positive" for the Raiders, they get shot to hell and jumped on by 100 people. Hey thats to be expected. So dont be suprised if the person being attack retaliates a little bit. If you see someone being beat up do you run in and take a shot yourself or stop the fight?

You see the cycle here? Post for 5 days fired up about the Raiders ignoring the team problems and then Sunday minutes after the game there are 100 posts about how bad Collins sucks, defense sucks, fire Norv, blah blah blah. Ive seen it all. From the posts of how we COULD have won the game if we got this call, or didnt get that call, or that flag. We should have covered if this one guy didnt fall down and they wouldnt have scored... Coulda Shoulda Woulda...The Raiders have been turned into a team of middle achievers and finger pointers.

Bottom line is, we are 0-2. Go ahead and get fired up about Philly. More power to you. I know the Raiders have serious problems. Do I think the Raiders are going to win in Philly? Nope. Thats my opinion. I choose to not get my hopes up only to be let down ONCE again. I would love for them to pull an upset. If they do I will be pleasently suprised. Just because I dont think the Raiders are going to go 16-0 and to the superbowl every year doesnt make me less of a fan. I know the game of football and I know the problems the Raiders have been experiencing. Ive been following the team since before Marcus Allen was a rookie. It starts with Al Davis.

Anyways, enjoy friends on Sunday. Like I said, it would be great if the Raiders win, but I dont expect that to happen. Im just going to have fun like the rest of you football fans. Our opinions differ. I can live with that, can you?

We have enough a-hole opposing fans spitting the hatred that you spit. How about you try to find some positives instead up ripping the man that created the Raiders. With out Al you have no Raiders.

Positives? Alright...

Our Run Defense has improved tremendously. I dont see it improving because we added NEW talent, I just see the defense hustling more than last year. I think going back to the 4-3 has alot to do with it.

Our Punter rocks. Im sure he's hands down the best in the league. Lets hope he doesnt get THAT much practice this year :P
