The Official Raiders get BBQ'd by the Chiefs Thread

I see this being a close game.

If Surtain can't go I think Moss and Porter are going to have career day's against our 2nd rate corners.

Our only hope is to get in Collins face and try to keep him from throwing the deep ball or to play a little Martyball and just let Priest and LJ run the ball and keep Moss on the sidelines.

What say you guys?

I expect a close game. My key to the game is us gettin pressure on Trent Green because of all the inexperience in our secondary. C-Wood must shut down Gonzales. I'm still not convinced that KC's defense is that improved. I think we will be able to have sucess with the run. We ran pretty well on NE until we fell behind and abandoned the run.

That should be your strategy - Run the ball and try to control the clock to keep our offense off the field. However, our run D is better than the Jets so it won't be as easy as yesturday.

I'll take Collin's 3td to 1 int ratio. Passing defense lost that game, not Collins. Although his pick turned the tide of the game, he seemed to be pressing becuase he knew we had to put up a lot of points. The O-line wasn't protecting him. We can't put that kind of pressure on him.

Stress balance on offense, improve the passing defense by blitzing more often, and we win. Our team seems to have a new attitude and they really pull for each other. They should be pumped for our home opener

Well the Jets said the same thing. Priest and LJ won't be able to run the ball etc etc....Thats why the play the game on the field and not on paper.

It's gonna be tough to run on this year's Raiders. They were tough in the pre-season and very tough against a very good rushing team in the gaytriots. KC will have to pass to be effective, since it's clear that the worst part of the Raiders is their pass D. Unfortunately, I see Gonzo having a good day (as he usually does) against the Raiders. I think the Raider DB's should have a better time with covering KC's average recievers. If Roaf doesn't play, I think it could be a long day for KC, especially since the best backup OL is out for 'roids.

Your only hope to slow the Raiders O down is to get after Collins like NE did. I don't see that happening much because KC's D-line isn't even close to NE's. If Collins has time, he'll slice that D apart. I suspect KC will blitz a lot to try and get him out of rhythm. Jordan will have his chances because KC can't play 8 in the box with Porter and Moss

With Kennison and Gonzales being your only big-time receiving threats, we will key in on Holmes and Johnson, and shut your running game down. Just ask Corey Dillon about that. And even if Surtain (who I happen to think is a very good CB) plays, I belive the Raider WR's will torch your secondary. Curry and Porter should be healthier than in the NE game. If your D-line doesn't pressure Collins, it's over in the 1st half. All in all, I expect a very competitive and entertaining game from both squads on Sunday night.
