I have thought about this before and I can easily say right now that I would never want the Raiders to change anything about their uniforms it would almost feel like someone ripping my hart right out of my chest while I watch it beating in the palms of their hands.



Anyways does anyone forsee in the future a change? With every other team changing their uniforms does it cross your minds at all?

Deep down inside I don't believe we will be changing anything, but I always enjoy what the nation has to say.

Excuse my language but, as long as Al Davis is alive, nothing about the Raiders will ever change!
The only change the Raider have had w/ their uniforms were the numbers on he players...remember in the 80's and early 90's, other teams, and the TV networks complaint about the Raider #'s being very shiny and that silver color, in which made it hard to see due to the glare of the sun bouncing on them....
that has been the only change and will remain the only change...
No ****ing alternate colors, no ugly ass "cool" colors to sell more jerseys to the youths and/or gang bangers of America, no different trims, no logos on the jersey, no different shades...Black jerseys, White Jerseys...thats it...thats the simplicity and the beauty of these uniforms. Heritage, history, pride, and the look of a proffesional, well-run, stylish, intimedating, and bad-ass looking threads...I would hate to see them wearing anything else but the uniforms we have now! WHy do leagues feel that they have to force teams to change their god-damm threads to sell more jerseys to the youths....I'll be honest w/ ya, those powder blue charger uniforms would be cool if they wore them all season! I cant stand the dolts, but those uni's are nicer than the **** rags they have now! May the Pirate on our helmet and the black and white jerseys our warriors wear be the long-standing battle gear for years to come!

Over on Raiders.com there is a section where you can ask questions of Al LoCasale.(Somebody check that guy's pulse, will ya?). Anyway, a few months ago someone wrote in asking the same question, and got the same answer RINY just gave you. (Slightly more sanitized, but the same feeling.)

I don't think anyone would dare change a thing about it, even after Al passes the reins to someone else.

If you look about the league and all its uni's changing you have to ask WTF? The changes are terrible. I wouldn't be caught dead in any of them. Now if you want to go retro and make uni changes that way, thats fine. But the Raiders will stay the same.

the Jets and Giants both went to their retro helmets not to long ago, even though the Jets uni's look like a viral infection but, thats beside the point...SD should go back!
By the way, the Yucs should also...those tampon red uniforms they have now suck...i would love to see those orange unis back!

Raiders don't retire number. The whole is greater than the sum of it parts. Raider tradition is of Excellence.


I love those facts, because every time someone makes a play and someone asks 'who is numer?' there comes back all the Raider greats who played that number before.


That being said, Al knowing this sport is bigger than any one individual, treats those who play it very well. The Raiders organization is full of former players whose skills at other capacities aside from playing makes them part of Excellence that Al Davis has made reality.

By the way, am sending Email to raiders.com, there is a Geico commercial that someone says their iguana mascot is all about the Commitment to Excellence...

Did anyone check out the new Falcons jerseys? They're terrible man, terrible! The Raiders have always had the coolest threads!

Correct.... I don't even look for the names on Jerseys, just the numbers. Didnt recall even looking for the names when I saw them.Always looked for the number.

Hey RINY, you like those old school bucs uni's.....they were so ugly it was cool huh? haha.....it was like a fat ass ugly bitch, who knew she was ugly, and didn't give a ****. Other "old school" uni's I liked were the Oilers and the old Patriots with the guy hiking the football on their helmets......

RaiderInNY put it best. If Al leaves and someone else takes over (won't happen, Al's the undead he'll be around forever), but I could see a change. Until then, no way we have the best uniforms in the game and there's no reason to change them.
