Patriots Super Bowl Champions

Contrary to what you might believe, I really respect some of your Raider fans opinions. Here is my dilemma.
A friend of mine (Yes I have friends!!lol) keeps saying that the Patriots are NOT a Dynasty. And to be honest I believe COMPLETLY that they are! So, let me ask all you Raider fans, are we a Dynasty or not?
Here is some background for you.
The Patriots won Super Bowls in the following years.
2005
2004
2002

Thats a good question and to truly answer that we need to be sure of the definition of dynasty.

The definition of dynasty is:

1. A succession of rulers from the same family or line.
2. A family or group that maintains power for several generations: a political dynasty controlling the state.

Well from that definition I would say no, reason being that you missed one SB in between if you had of won 4 in a row oh yeah for sure then. The Pats missed one year of "power" so that would preclude them from dynasty status in my opinion. However as they say opnions are like assholes, everyone has one....:-)

3 SB's in 4 years is pretty good though and in the salary cap era a great achievement!!

You know, I actually forgot about it being in the salary cap era!! You really seem to know your football, let me ask you another question. When the Patriots give out there Championship rings is that before the first game of the season, or when they get to training camp?

Isnt it around July or something ike that? It is definetly training camp because I seem to remember something about Ted Washington leaving camp last year to get his ring. I dont ever remember anything about the 1st game of the season

Thanks man you have been really helpful...If your still around...What are the odds that the Raiders would EVER win 3 Super Bowls in 4 years? I know its a looooonnngggggg time ago that your team has won the Championship. But, could you give a reasonable estimate?

Well, my honest opinion as a raider fan is that i have hopes of my team making a SB run every yr....while we've had a losing record the past 2 yrs, the raiders do not have a history of being losers. I can honestly say that if the raiders dont make a run for the SB in 05, they will for sure in 06. And as far as the raiders winning 3 out of 4, well i think once the raiders get that taste of a SB again, then anything is possible from there.

Do you feel that the Raiders are the "Joke of the NFL" ?? Just because, you haven't won since 84? And does that "Frustrate" you at all? Or have you learned to "Live with it" sorta like when a women is battered by her husband, she just lives with it and she doesn't just leave the LOSER!!

As much as a dislike the Patsies, If other teams have the right to be called a football dynasty, you do too.

Now, I believe your dynasty is tarnished because of the tuck rule and sucking in 2003, I think if you call the Cowgirls or the Whiners a dynasty, you too have the right to be called a dynasty

Although, i disagree with calling any football team a dynasty..

Hard to give an estimate really...the NFL gets more competitiveeach and every year and different teams make a run. The best teams are the ones who evolve and play as a team. The Pats are one such organization, they play as a team as one unit. I beleive we need to get that message and my real thought here is '06 gives us a better opportunity than '05. We need to play as team which is something we havent done since the superbowl year.

In regards to your other question "Are we the joke of the NFL?" I find it incredible you would even ask that of us. I mean when there are Browns, Cardinals, Lions and others around we could never even be in that ballpark. I love my team, as you do yours, and one of the things I respect about my organization is we might not win every year but we try and get players to help us win every year. Now that doesnt work all the time but the effort is there. I see other owners who are just happy to have a team but do nothing to support it. Following the Raiders I know Al Davis wants to win each and every year. You might hate him but you have to respect his committment to the team and winning. The main ingredient we lack at the moment is the ability to play as a team. Like the old saying goes A champion team will always beat a team of champions.

Pansies before 2001-2002: Worst team to ever play in the NFL, Hell, Arizona's B Squad coulda took them.
Raiders before 1984: Great team with great legacy
Pansies after 2002: Good team that got 3 SBs due to D and O coordinators. Never win another SB
Raiders after 1984: Respectable, decent team
Raiders after 2002-2003: Rebuilding after the demise of Callahan.


You Patsies are the biggest bandwagoners I've ever seen. I don't even know if there was a Pansie fan before 2001. Oh well, a faithful Thursday night will put you in your place.

joke of the nfl?? actually no, i could name 2 other teams that i think are bigger 'jokes' than the raiders....namely the arizona cardinals and the cleveland browns. And becuz we havent won the SB since 84 doesnt frustrate me at all, actually its just more incentive to be a bigger fan than i was before, becuz as any fan, i want my team to do well all the time. And as far as leaving the team i root, it'll never happen. While i do respect the pats a great deal(mainly cuz one of my best friends is a pats fan, and my cousin too), their 'dynasty' will eventually end. Im curious to see what patriot fans r still around once the team goes back to average.
