He's an animal to the bone. At one time potentially the greatest fighter ever, and now an internet joke, although a very dangerous one.
I hate sticking up for the guy, but I think there's a possibility he got railroaded on the rape charge. None of us were there, so it's impossible to say for sure. I just remember thinking at the time that the whole story sounded funny. If he really was guilty of rape, he didn't spend nearly enough time behind bars. As far as his comments, that was completely out of line. I can't believe he didn't get in trouble for that. Isn't that an implied threat? Hey Mikey, if their giving you that much room to operate try something like "I wish I had her intestines wrapped around my knife hand while I calmly and slowly sliced her head clean the **** off and bashed it into a tree."

Why he's the perfect roll model for the youth of this country. I know many a student in the NYC area schools that love him.

But theres more to it then that. Mike Tyson has been crying out for help, and has been a loose cannon ever since he lost his 1st manager. Don King does nothing for him, they all step back and just let him go. Its a shame. THERE IS NO RESEMBLANCE TO RUSSELL OR BR, in the actions of Tyson. I'm sick & tired of all the references. No one would model themselfs after this poor sap.

Not that I agree with him by any means but...
He still claims that the sex was consentual (what the **** is she doing going to his hotel room at 3 in the morning) and then she turns around and has him thrown in jail for what, money...fame. I would be one bitter MF myself, the guy was on top of the world he comes out of jail and he lost all his skills. So in his pea-brain he's like, '****, if i'm going to jail, I might've well have raped her and her mama'. I don't really agree with his logic but I can understand it.

True the girl was there for the booty call and for all we know may have had consentual sex with Mike.. but WTF? Why go public and speak your mind this way? Once a great boxer - now he's just an idiot. He showed the same lack of respect for his golddigger exwife (but somehow that I can understand.. lol) and kept his business in the media. I believe Mike is capable of rape and that's sad that such an icon can fall so short of his once held glory...
To tell the honest truth there aren't many articulate athletes with good moral values in the world anymore and those that have those qualities are well known and are something of a rarity. Tyson's career is over and he knows this. Now he's just trying to keep the buzz going on himself.

I think that Tyson could possibly make a comeback. He isn't completely washed up yet! It will be tough and if he has the chance to beat Lennox Lewis again he has to do it! The Tyson case is very similar to the Bryant case. Both girls went to the hotel rooms of the accused. If Kobe is acquited than I believe that Tyson should have been. He's a great boxer, but yes he's not a perfect role model, but then again, who is in sports these days?
