Well wuddo you know, even Non- Raider fans agree with me.
The people on the message board (link on bottom of post) have the same opinion that me and AceRimRat have. That is that the Raiders are better comparing individually, but the play as a team and their D-Line makes everyone else better.
WOW! Raider fans are more pessimistic about our D than other team's fans! http://s3.cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/ge...&topic=8034582 |

The NFL is a copy cat league
Al Davis does not subcribe to that theory. Al goes his own way. The day he gets a real DC is the day the Raider will have a D. WE have the players to be as GOOD as TB WAS. The Ravens were a GREAT team on D, not a good one. They didn't do a repeat cause they got to full of themselfs. And then of course they had cap issues. I can't see Al having one dominate unit, and relying on that one unit taking us to Houston. Like TB & the Ravens did in their SB seasons. Dave the Raider, in case you have not noticed i'm doing everything i can to legitimize your orginial post. I'll let you know where to send the money.

And I mean, I disagree with your initial assessment, too (though you've backtracked some). I agree the Raiders have several players that match up favorably with their Tampa counterparts, but I thought my post was clear on the reason I think your initial thesis (the Raider D is better than the Buc D) is wrong: Proportion of betterness, for lack of a better way of saying it, and intangibles. You'll recall my bottom line is that the Bucs have the better defense, and by a reasonable margin. I only point this out since you mentioned me by name and I don't believe you're quite representing my views accurately. No flame intended. |
