Raiders-Niner Game? What's most important?
What are you looking for?
A big win? Looking at total team performance? Group performance? Individual performance? Are you of the "don't care about the end score. Want to see how so and so plays? Or of the "preseason games are exciting, but scare the hell out of me knowing that a rookie who's not even going to make the team just allowed a pass rusher by, who just knocked our qb out for the year, and our season is shot before it even started"? I mean, it is for bragging rights of the Bay. to you that don't live in the Bay Area, you wouldn't really know how big the rivalry is between local fans, but it's pretty big, and has been for a while. Most living here have friends, or work with people that support the other team, so it's almost impossible to be a football fan and not engage in exchanges, whether it's mild or intense. So how many of you get all up for a preseason game? Up to where you not just want to kick ass, but expect to kick ass, and if you don't you wake up the next day all moody?

back in the day I used to care about preseason and the their record, but as I got older i found out the score and record dont mean jack! If it did we would be superbowl champs every year! LOL. I just like preseason cuz it kills my itch for football after the long offseason and I definitely like to see how our new rookies or brand new starters perform, or players that have question marks surrounding them **cough, Kwame Harris, Javon Walker cough**

I remember a year the Niners went 0-4 in the preseason, and TB went 4-0.
Niners ended up winning the SB that year, and TB ended up 1-15. That and both teams have some players still rehabbing. Sitting some out, such as Bruce, and maybe Gore, Fun to watch, but honestly the NFL needs to take the advice of many and start making close vicinity teams play each year, such as Niners/Raiders, Detroit/Green Bay, Miami/TB, Giants/Jets, Cowboys/Texans etc.

Honestly, I could care less about preseason records. I only care about the wins and losses once the season starts. With that being said, I would still watch the Raiders preseason games just to see how, as NHRaider stated above, certain players performed, mainly drafted/undrafted rookies, or FA signings. What I really look for is to see whether the offense and defense looked cohesive as a whole unit, and that there's a positive progression from week to week and not a regression.
Mostly, I just hope to get through the 4 preseason games without suffering any major injuries to key players.

I wouldn't have a problem with that, it's not a bad idea. However I don't think it's good to have division rivals playing eachother in preseason, such as Detroit/Green Bay as you mentioned.

Now I'm all good for a great a$$ kicking from the boys across the bay, but if it's preseason it doesn't mean much IMO.

I hear what you're saying about the teams in close proximity it should be that way. But pre-season isn't for bragging rights, it's just to cure that off season itch and to guage rookies and new players. But I can't wait for it to start.
