I doubt a woman that old is interested in football chat sites, even if she happens to be a player's mom. Rather, I think it's just one of the many male Charger fans dressed up in woman's clothes wishing he could give birth to a NFL player.

no offense dude but after reading your comments over there, you are one of those fans that make everyone else look bad. arguing about the chargers never winning a super bowl. fact is they are a lot closer than we are. so when you have to resort to garbage arguments like that, it makes raider fans look pretty dumb. thats just my opinion though

I'm glad we have a REAL ATHLETE in Newberry's place at camp. Dude should of retired 2 seasons ago. He must need money BAD. If he has to block Tommy Kelly at all this season that will be fun to watch.

Wow. This is one of the most intelligent posts I've ever read on any fan board, and that includes the Chargers boards I used to frequent.

Regarding Newberry: I hope we don't have to use him as a full-time starter for any length of time. I hope Hardwick is able to return quickly and resume the caliber of play that has earned him recent Pro Bowl berths. And I hope that neither Newberry or his mother make anymore statements that Kiffin can post on the lockerroom bulletin board when we face each other this season.

All that said, I believe I've read assessments from several Raiders fans on this board that Newberry was your best center last season. At any rate, I think he will make an excellent back-up. Just as long as it doesn't turn into full-time.
