It's a typing error when you miss a word in your sentence? This discussion is ridiculously stupid and your argument is weak. That's why you've resorted to pointing out grammatical errors on a friggin message board.

Haven't posted in a while, but i decided this would be a good thread to get back in the flow. I'm also sorry if I repeat any of your fine posts, as 9 pages is quite a bit to read.

As for my opinion on the drafting McFadden, I think it was the best possible pick they could've made in they're position. They picked whom they thought was the best player in the draft (imo it was either he or Dorsey) and they further invested in the future of Russell. I think for this draft getting weapons to help nurture a young and seemingly enlessly talented quarterback should've been the priority. You don't want Russell to dinged up early, and you don't want to put the entire offense on his shoulders so soon, just my opinion.

As for drafting for need, When you're trying to rebuild a team that's had 5 straight losing seasons, you really don't have the luxury of drafting for need. You have to take the best and most explosive player available, especially when you go into the draft with only 5 picks; McFadden has all the makings of being that player. Now you have the foundation to start drafting and targeting free agents for need over the next couple of years to build a solid and winning franchise.

Just my 2 cents, and again I'm sorry for not reading all of your posts.

Amen. And I will agree Air. Last year people on this fine site complained about no game breakers. No play makers. No home run hitters. Ok. We got that now. Robert Gallery got passes because he had so many coaches. Mike Huff got passes because he isn't a natural SS. Ok. Whatever. But now its no excuses. JaMarcus will be in camp from day 1. We got Darren McFadden. It doesn take a RB no time to blossom as we seen in Adrian Peterson last year.

No more excuses from the players or fans. WIN GAMES. PERIOD.

If the Raiders don't win over 4 games this year is a terrible failure.
Your right they need to at least go 8-8 but some of the people on here expect miracles. Remember Russell is still basically a rookie. It is going to take a year or 2 to completely rebuild the mess we had under Art Shell 2 years ago. But I see alot of progress starting with letting Porter go who was an underachiever and complainer.

You will see McFadden was a great choice he is a game breaker. Hopefully Walker can return to form which is a risk but in order to move forward and contend you need to take chances.

As far as the Huff pick I didn't like it when we picked him. Same goes for Gallery I wanted to trade back with Gallery and pick up someone else. I really wanted Eli but he was taken I would have much rather had Roy Williams, Taylor or Fitz. I wanted Leinart the year Huff was picked but the jury is out on him also.

Now I paraphrased yuo but in your context it was like "Living in Richmond I thank God every day I wake up alive, because it's very easy to wake up dead here". IMO that is thanking God for living in hell, perhaps the greatest oxymoron of all.

What makes the D-Mac pick look even worse, besides the fact we had 6 RB's to begin with, is the fact that the rest of our picks only scratched the surface of our greatest needs. That DE we selected seemed like an afterthought at best.

We drafted another damn cornerback and two fast, wack ass receivers.

Now, if we had used our two 4th's on Dre Moore or Red Bryant or Jonathan Goff or traded up for Dan Connor, I wouldn't be nearly as frustrated with Al Davis as I am now. ANY of those players would have been a step in the right direction to solidifying our run defense.

I don't even wanna talk about the O-line.

Nail meet hammer!!!! The emptiness that most of us are feeling is that YES we have a potentially great player BUT we did NOT address needs. Luxury picks are for teams that are 1 or 2 players away...the RAIDERS are in the 5 -6 player range as evident to a 4 -12 season.

Good linebackers can blitz, tackle, and read the play effectively. Coverage is one of the last things they should worry about. People need to stop crowning our average players. I'm surprised people are not saying Nnamdi is a hall of famer yet.

Miller has more work to do as a reciever and Richardson is nothing but a backup. Almsot all other teams can give you a better list of players they have drafted in recent yrs.
Your missing on thing here they are still young players. You aren't giving them a chance to grow and get better. Morrison and Thomas have done remarkably well for being so young and have NO DT in front of them worth a damn. Sapp is terrible against the run and wasn't anything special pressure wise by the time we got him. We don't blitz them putting them in situations to use the speed they have. Hell Thomas' biggest attribute is his speed and he could cause havoc pressuring the Qb but we refuse to blitz.

Aso is a pro bowl type player and only can be judged on the years he has had in the league. Am I saying he is a Hall of Famer? No but he is a top 5 CB in his short time in the league.

Miller and Richardson were both rookies like I said they are headed in the right direction you need to be reasonable and give these guys time to develope not expect them to come into the NFL and rip it apart.

As for Russell and McFadden they are solid picks you know what I mean. I think your expectations are way too high. Do you expect to rebuild a team in 2 years from 2-14 to superbowl contender?

You need to take steps and risks to move forward. Also, you may need to take 2 steps back to take that gaint leap forward and win the superbowl at some point. Do you think drafting Dorsey would have made us a contender this year? I say No and in the future considering he already has injury issues he may not even be in the NFL.
