Looks great Nexx. Be it far from me to critique my mentor, but I would have had two separate shadows be cast from the shape in the middle......both shadow cast to the outside, but hey, that's just me, and we all know I've got a lllllooooonnnnnggggg way to go to catch up with the genius that is Raidernexx.

That's the price I sometimes pay for pumpin' 'em out.
I don't neccessarily pay attention to the shading as I would if I was doing a sketch.

Sometimes I just try to use the shading to separate the layers to make some stuff standout more than others.

By merging the shaded layers prior to creating my own shadow, I can override Photoshop's default shadow "protection" feature when needed.

Not neccessarily the right or correct way, but I just like to have a little more control over the finished product.
