I believe it. The way Gruden gushed over the kid on his show 4 years ago. He was in love! Like the article says, he really pushed hard for Oak to sign Manziel.
    Gruden still talks about him.

Whatever league he’s playing in now, if he plays well, DC goes down again and we need our backups to perform (and they won’t) I could see Gruden pulling the trigger.
Don’t underestimate Grudens love for Johnny Football. Though I think he’s more of a distraction sitting behind Carr then help. The media press would be a pain in the ass

im not against the signing but it better be a min pay so it doesn't hit the top 51 contracts or the salary cap, competition is a good thing especially for backup qb

Manziel and his family are already rich before his rookie deal. So it has NOTHING to do with his account. So since you like to make up assumptions I'll make one to. You're a DUMBASS!!

Some people think "rich" people have access to money. Not always true. When you have a lot of money they are usually tied up in investments, some that can't be sold, bad investments etc. The music industry is an example. Bands often have to tour just to make money to live even though they made millions in the 80's. Sure, they could rent a one bedroom apartment somewhere and sell their 4 properties, but they don't even think that way. Todd Marinavich made enough money to pay him $65,000 a year without working a day for 40 years. You can't just put that kind of money in a bank savings account.

True. But that's not the same with Johnny's family and money. I believe they have made their wealth in oil down in Texas. So they and he are rich and actually have the money not just investments. I know this because I went to school with and know Johnny's cousin. He mentioned one day if I was gonna watch his cousin play on TV. I was like sure, who is he and what team does he play for. Then he told me it was Manziel. My response was holy shit Johnny Football is your cousin. HA! This happened Johnny's last year in college. Then we chatted about the other issues that were going along with Manziel earlier that season. I think it was some story Manziel meeting with some guy to sale his autograph or something and that guy supposedly paid him X amount of money. I can't remember the exact number but I think it was around $12,000 or something close. When I brought that up to my friend, that's when I found out that the story was basically a big lie. The guy that Manziel met with was a friend and he didn't pay him anything. Also, if Johnny actually needed money he could easily get it from his family. The way he made it sound like was that $12,000 is basically no big deal. Then my buddy told me about Manziel's family and how wealthy they are. The funny thing about my buddy is that he was praying that Oakland didn't draft him cause my friend is a Broncos fan. But to make a long story short, too late, is that Manziel's account is drained and he's only living the "straight" life because he wants/needs another pay day.
