Supposedly proper channels would have been the Browns GM e-mailing the Bengals GM or vice versa, but it seems clerical staff on the Browns side sent the e-mail to the Bengals, but since it did not say Browns GM...it was disregarded as not urgent.
Then comes up another part is that coaching, GM and front office are not all on the same page, so whoever the Bengals talked to, seems did not have the authority to approve trades? Hue Jackson? Thus there was no e-mail from the Browns GM....???
