We lost by 7. Against the best team in the afc statistically. This was a huge game where we showed that our defense is pretty good and had we a better offensive line we might have won this game. I think we proved we are not that far from being contenders for the playoffs
Raiders play great game...Defense was really good and the offense was not so good...but we got a rookie QB who not going to be perfect...
But the thing is in the off-season we do need to address the QB situation...we can go with O'Connell as a starter but we really need another QB as a backup; and a good backup...having Jimmy G as backup is just way too expensive and he not even that good....
O' Connell was off target yesterday and I take it that he is a rookie; but if a former QB and I won't mention his name was on the team; he would have hit them target...
O' Connell was a fourth round pick...why did the guy get drafted so late is a good question....I think we go with him as a future QB, but we do need a backup plan with either drafting a QB or free agency...

AP gets the players motivated, but you need a coach who can compete with the best.
I saw a good video by Hondo Carpenter after the game. He wasn’t making excuses, but he said that the Raiders are limited in what they can call with O’Connell. They had what he thought was a good game plan, but in the second half the Dolphin’s DC changed things up, doing things they hadn’t shown on film. The Raiders couldn’t change in the same way because O’Connell basically has a limited three-week playbook to use because they created a playbook for him, using his strengths.
He was #3 in training camp and the preseason, meaning he got limited reps. During most of the season, he was still #3.
Still, the Raiders played a great team well.
proud of this team despite the loss, we hung witht he mighty dolphins and our defense played great shutting down the dolphins offense many times via 4th down stops and turnovers, our offense basically lost this game for us in the 2nd half , no run game plus rookie qb really tied our hands, play calling was also suspect
With the time on the clock with 2 time outs before the half, how don't you take safe shots in the end zone. You want to give AOC4 confidence, get a TD there. Some of the Coaches calls have me baffled. A TD there and the Raiders take the Field goals in the 2nd half and win.
My thoughts exactly, plenty of time to drive it closer and take a couple shots in the zone. They probably playing prevent, couple hook routes behind a Davante sprint to the zone gets you into the 20's possibly the teens.
