Jets expected to pursue Davante Adams offseason trade, sources say

The New York Jets' search for answers on offense will extend into the offseason, when they likely will revisit the opportunity to acquire a player they've had their eyes on since last summer.

The Jets inquired about reuniting Las Vegas Raiders Pro Bowl receiver Davante Adams with Aaron Rodgers before last month's trade deadline, only to be quickly rebuffed.

But the Jets might not be willing to take no for an answer, as sources around the NFL expect that New York will pursue Adams again this offseason, trying once and for all to pair him with Rodgers.

"That will happen," one source predicted to ESPN. "I think so."

Sauce, Quinnen and a #1. That would do it for me.

or Four 1st round picks...... got to over pay massively.

I would think they would want to focus on their future QB. Rogers might never be good again or constantly get injured moving forward. He will be 40 in a couple weeks.

Im sure it is Rogers that is pushing the Jets to go out and get D. Adams. Im sure he's promissing a Superbowl if he gets Adams

Can you imagine our D? Maxx and Quinnen on the same line. Line up Sauce and let him follow other team’s #1 receiver. Other teams can’t run. Other teams can’t pass. Major upgrade in pass rush, as Maxx can’t be doubled all game long. Big push up the middle to go after MaHomes.

Rebuild our OL in the draft, sign Jacobs to long- term deal. Build a bully up front. Now we’ve got a team O’Connell can grow into. If Quinnen can be signed to long-term deal, we’re a 12-14 win team consistently. And we can play with anyone.

I’d do this deal in a heartbeat.

The Jets will have to overpay. There would be numerous suitors.

Need a top 5 pick for Marvin, possibly top 3. What could of been with CeeDee, who has averaged 150 yards his last 3 games.

And either trade for or draft a DUAL THREAT QB.
If you build both lines and make them both bullies, get a damn Dual Threat QB and you will win a lot more games than you lose.

Sorry but I truly believe the future of the Raiders offense is with a dual threat QB

I agree...and I'm a AOC fan. He's a game manager...and nothing more. We NEED a duel threat QB. Build both lines. We're on our way! let's get there.

Yeah I like AO4 too. But don't see him as our Superbowl contending answer. Think about today. If AO4 had wheels, or at least some sort of escapability, we win the game.
QBs that have no threat of running the ball, can be schemed much easier than the ones that threaten a run like a Herbert... he doesn't run often but he can do it.
And there is some mid level QBs out there in free agency that can answer the call... especially with the right OC calling the plays.
