Thread: Tyree Wilson...I am concerned

Maybe put in him as a DT for now where his strength might show out. Bring back Jordan Willis if hes still available. Don't want to see that slow Tillery out there as DE. Let Koonce play more.

exactly, you dont sit out 10 months and get almost zero experience playing at the pro level and kick ass, look at deshaun watson dude was an all star qb and missed a yr and half and has been aat it for 3/4 of a season and has still looked like crap

Didn’t expect him to kick ass but also didn’t expect him to be a half a second behind the snap of the ball on every snap he played, I’m sure he will improve, not saying he is a bust, not saying we shouldn’t have drafted him, that’s been debated enough, just saying he was a half a second behind the snap on every rep I saw him take, that’s concerning for a top ten pick,

Thats how he played in college too. He seems faster if his hand is not in the dirt. Not a big fan on his tackling technique either. He likes to grab and fall to the side hoping the guy will come with him.

Line him up as an elephant. His job would be to set the edge against the run, rush the passer, and occasionally drop into coverage as a stand-up linebacker or hand-in-the-dirt DE. Belichick used Willie Mcginest this way, I wonder why can't we.

We probably will use him in multiple roles eventually. He's athletic enough to do that. He needs to get reps in one role for now until he's comfortable.

That's why I think he does that on purpose. Like he's reading the play. Him taking his time actually broke up a delayed HB toss as he kept the edge and forced the RB inside for a TFL.

There are a lot of potential reasons he looked slow. Granted, I wasn't able to watch the game so I'm taking y'alls word for it that he really did look awfully slow and out of place. But the guy's coming off an injury, missed a lot of camp time, and is a rookie in the NFL. That's a lot stacked against a rookie going into his first NFL game.

kid looked like he was learning on the fly and thinking too much, on one play he was a split second late off the ball and then bull rushed up field and stopped cause a back had snuck out, then pushed forward again
this kind of stuff happens when you miss all of camp and preseason except a limited 3 pre season game, its like taking a test and not studying, your just scratching your head not knowing the answers

But if I’m taking a test in a subject I’ve been an A+ student in since grade school, don’t get me wrong, I’m not really down on the kid, didn’t hate the pick, I did think Carter was the way to go but I completely understood not taking him, I was just surprised by the slow reactions to the snaps, everything else, I expected, end of the day I support the team, the staff and him, hope he improves, which I am sure he will, with the bullshit of Chandler, it needs to be on a shorter timeline,
