Report: Saints bring in Jon Gruden to help install offense

New quarterback Derek Carr had a familiar helping hand this past week -- former Raiders coach Jon Gruden -- as the New Orleans Saints installed their offense during offseason workouts.

The Saints brought in Gruden to help Carr and the offensive coaching staff under coach Dennis Allen, NOLA.com reported Friday.

A second-round draft pick by the Raiders in 2014, Carr spent his career in the silver and black until his release after the 2022 season. He signed a four-year, $150 million contract with the Saints in March.

Wow; could just see Gruden hired as the
next head coach of the saints

could be the league preparing to settle gruden lawsuit too, allowing him to coach again and a bg money settlement rather then airing the dirty laundry in court for all to see

Even though Sean Payton is gone, the Saints still run a West Coast offense that was brought in by Payton. Payton learned the offense when he was in Philadelphia.
Gruden was the Eagles's offensive coordinator and Payton was the quarterbacks coach.

They aren't hiring him as a coach. They want the familiarity of the offense to be installed with him to help Carr. This makes sense because Carr usually is not good in his first year in systems. Carr has a shelf life of maybe 3 years before he's holding a clipboard on the sidelines and backing up Mahomes or Herbert
