Thread: Supply and Demand

    Supply and Demand

Depending on who you talk to, there is either a huge demand for DC or there isn't. Many say DC is a average to decent QB who has no trade value, while others say he is worth a great deal in a trade. Actually, I might be the only one, who has had the balls to put out there, that I think Derek Carr is worth a first, second, and third round pick and a quality starting player if he were to be traded. If not more.

IMHO, if Dave Ziegler doesn't get this type of compensation for Derek Carr, he should be fired on the spot. So if you're reading this Dave Ziegler, game on!

With that said, I maintain that this is a huge mistake and there isn't a better option than DC for a multitude of reasons. Many of you who were clamoring for Tom Brady, should all be ashamed of yourselves! Replacing a legit top 10 QB at 31 years of age for a 46 year old QB, who is a hit away from being done for good, made no sense weeks ago, and it makes no sense today! Even to Tom Brady it made no sense! Perhaps when Tom was taking time to figure things out, he can accross this message board to get a pulse of the Raider Nations thoughts. After reading my threads and posts, it all made sense to Tom Brady that he should indeed hang it up, and come no where close to Las Vegas Raiders!

Many of you are starting to come to grips with everything that I have been saying as well. Most all of you didn't have the nuts, to give me a detailed succession plan from moving on from DC. Becuase there ins't one!!! Some of you had the pathetic pipe dream Tom Brady was coming here. And wanting it to happen. If you were one of these people, get your ass outta here!!!

I can also start to see some of you are going to use the Brady retirement as an excuse when the compensation comes in for DC, should he be traded. Saying the only reason the Raiders got what they got for Derek Carr is because Tom retired and there weren't many other options. You should have factored that in when you were so quick to predict Carr will be released and or the Raiders might get a 3rd round pick for him! At 46 years old, you should have had the common sense to know, that retirement was an option for Tom Brady.

Tom retiring certainly helps matters with a trade IMO, but there are writers and journalists who are being paid by multi-million dollar companies to cover professional football, who are saying just the complete opposite, and Brady retiring has no factor at all in a Carr trade. In fact, they are saying Tom retiring hurts the chances of Carr getting traded, and a release is inevitable.

Rich Cimini says Carr to the Jets for a third round pick. Katherine Terrell says Carr to the Saints for a 3rd and 4th pick. Paul Gutierrez says Carr will still be released, all from ESPN.

Hondo Carpender of SI, who I do respect, recently wrote this article. Citing NFL executives are saying Carr essentially has no trade value, and Brady retiring is "Brutal' and 'devestating' for Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels.

To these NFL executives, I call Bull Sh*T!!!!!

Here's a list of teams who need a legit franchise QB and currently don't have one.

Houston, Washington, Indy, Atlanta, Carolina, New Orleans, and Tampa. Other teams that could be in the market are Tenneesee, Miami, Green Bay, and Seattle.

Who on this list will be in demand to be your guy to take you to the promise land? Not many! And who on this list of FA QB's are a better option than Derek Carr? Give me names!!!!! You will find the answer is no one!!!

The draft is a crap shoot. Bryce Young is 6 foot and 185 pounds. His size is already in question, and many have him as the top QB available coming out in the draft. Which one of these unknown commodities are you going to bet your job on and you think is a better option than Derek Carr?

As you can see, my brothers and sisters, DC as I wrote a weeks ago, was and is the best option for the Raiders. And if you want DC, you got to pay a premium to get him!

Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels have had a tough first year with the Raiders. With the narrative being spun that it was the players fault, not the coaching and decisions made by Dave Ziegler.

Right now, Dave and Josh are cornered, with no where to run and no where to hide. How they have handled all this and what they do with DC and who they bring in to replace him, are career decisions. And if their master plan was to go get Tom Brady, this has already been a disaster.

I think reality is setting in with Mark, Dave, and Josh. In that they are realizing they have handled the DC situation miserably! They took a playoff team and a QB coming off a club record 4,800 passing, and ruined it!

I think reality is setting in for most of you as well. Time is running out. Not only for Dave, Mark, and Josh, but for most all of you as well.

F.I.B. have you look at our defense; we need
money big time to upgrade the defense and getting
rid Carr will bring in 35 million dollars plus the
20 million we did not send last season….

So right there we have 55 million toward free agency….
I know right there we don’t have a QB but we can
draft the one….that our best option…

Keeping Carr will give us grief in the money
    department…

The number you should look at the most is the fully guaranteed money in the contract. Look at Carr's guarantees compared to the other top QB's in the league.

Again, Carr signed a team friendly deal. The narrative that the Raiders are in cap hell because of Derek Carr's contract is assinine!!!!!

Yeah those league executives that actually know something, are not to be trusted. A clown like FIB who doesn’t know shit should be considered gospel

I sit back and read all the posts and after reading this "After reading my threads and posts, it all made sense to Tom Brady" i had the hugest laugh then i thought maybe i was unfair because this guy really believes this! Have to be careful with mental health and all that :-)

Whoever is behind the handle and keyboard is no doubt dealing with mental instability and certified delusional. I think I've gotten to the end of the internet, holy mess.

Yeah, those “experts” and GMs know nothing. Carr’s value comes down to what others are willing to pay. Full In Bullshit said it will be two first round picks PLUS. I say it will be a second or third and one more pick

We will soon find out who is right.

Carr is an above average QB but not elite. His current trade value is controlled by his contract numbers and no trade. Teams might wait for the cut to get him for a new deal with no draft picks or give less in draft capitol in a trade due to the current cost of his existing contract. Its real not about Carr's ability, its a given who he is and his above average play. Its just the numbers now.

I think when the Raiders benched Carr, Ziegler and McDonalds convinced Davis that they could bring in Brady. Davis probably love the idea of Brady as a Raider.
Now, they can't get Brady and McDonalds has a problem.
He has to improve the team and he has one more season to do it. He will never get a rookie ready in one season. If the Raiders spend a high draft
pick on a rookie, I hope the new Raiders HC can do something with him after McDonalds is fired.

It looks like Rodgers is plan B. He will eat up cap space and cost draft picks. The defense won't get fixed if the Raiders sign Rodgers and he won't have a
good line in front of him either. The only way Rodgers might work is if the Raiders get picks for Carr.

Stidham is not talked about. I don't think McDaniels sees him as a starter. Plan C is probably Jimmy G.
