If Stidham had started the first two games the worst we would be right now is 0-2.
If I were McDaniels I would find a way to get Stidham on the field. Is Carr injured? Bad fingernail?

2 Live games played and you’ve all seen enough. McDaniels probably understands that it takes more than 2 live games, but what the hell would he know about it? He talked in his presser yesterday about all of them going through the growing pains together
With better QB play we would be 2-0 right now. Stidham would also have us 0-2. Stidham is not better than Carr. So sure, throw him out there and we can stop watching the game in the 3rd quarter cause we will get our teeth kicked in. Would be better for our blood pressure. The top 8 QBs in the league would have us at 2-0. The next batch, the 9-14 group, would have us at 1-1...maybe 2-0. I thought Carr was in that group. He just has regressed horribly over the past 12 games. He is making rookie mistakes. He isn't progressing through his reads. He's missing WIDE OPEN receivers

Ive watched this pussy for 8 years. I was all in after 2016. I excused 2017. 2018 he broke my heart. Never again. Hes a mediocre QB. Mediocre QBs occasionally have a break out game that gives some of you new hope ( I expect good numbers this week) but mostly mediocre to horrible games. That is Carr. That is why he is a middle class QB and approaching low class each week. Unreliable and scared. For him to get a ring he will need a top 3 defense, an AP oline and elite weapons to carry his sorry ass. I love some of these kids coming out in the draft next year. They are not a guarantee but at least there will be new hope.....with Carr I have zero hope. QB purgatory.
Yeah 8 years with McDaniels I would say yes you’re completely correct. He was pretty solid by last year after working under 1 coach for 3 years. Playoffs with a ton of adversity. Now, yes TWO games into a new system. I’m not trying to sell anything. If you want Stidham, great. If you want to tank the season and draft an unknown that’s ok for you. Nobody gives them away, so you can mortgage the future with pick trades. I’m happy to give them a bit of time and I hope they get it put together and start winning on the regular
That is what the 49ers thought & burnt 3 first-round draft picks to draft Trey Lance only to have JG bail them off in the last game. Sure we scored a field goal in the 2nd half. However, the play calling was not as aggressive in the 2nd as in the 1st. Also, the defense let us down plus Renfro fumbled the ball. You can fault Derek Carr but fault these guys first.
New coach, new hope.....with Carr, I think you progress him through Musgrave, Gruden and now McDaniels.....there is no improvement, he regresses. We have Adams, Waller and Renfrow, there is no excuse for the 2nd half on Sunday. Throws behind Adams, overthrows Waller. Run game was working, Jacobs was getting nice yardage.
When you look at Lamar Jackson being out there.....having a Davante, Waller and Renfrow at your disposal....you gotta choose Vegas....right?
