The problem was the judge only had information on four victims, not all 24.

Robinson was not presented with the cases of all 24 civil lawsuits filed against Watson
On Page 3 of her report, Robinson -- who writes that her decision is "limited by the record presented to me" -- makes clear the case presented to her was not about 24 different women but four. The NFL interviewed 12 of the 24 women who were suing Watson for damages in civil court and "relied for its conclusions on the testimony of 4 therapists, as well as interviews of some 37 other third parties."

The NFL's investigators do not have subpoena power and thus cannot compel all 24 of the women to talk to them. They interviewed 12, and of those 12, they decided four would form the basis of their argument Watson violated the personal conduct policy. It's unclear why they used only four, but that's what they apparently decided was the best way to make their case.

I get that but 4 is still more than 1. This isn’t a criminal case either so it should’ve been a season minimum with Watson having to be the one to appeal. Judge seriously called his behavior egregious and then slapped him on the wrist blaming the nfl for their precedent when I can’t think of anyone being suspended for sexual misconduct having this many allegations against them

Here's your answer to her referring to the NFL's precedent:

Since Rice's suspension, Goodell announced sweeping changes to the personal conduct policy concerning domestic violence cases. Violations regarding assault, battery, domestic violence or sexual assault that involve physical force "will be subject to a suspension without pay of six games for a first offense." A second offense will result in banishment from the NFL for at least one year.

Rice violently two-pieced his wife/girlfriend in the face, caught on video for the world to see, and this was the NFL's response to that and things like it. Again, this falls back on the NFL, not the judge. She's there to objectively apply the rules the NFL has in place, not make up new ones. Remember, she cannot administer things that violate the CBA.

Ah ok didn’t see that. Still kind of some what grey though. Could’ve seen each one as a different offense since they were different people and let him appeal that. What’s crazier is the nfl saying sexual assault with physical force only merits 6 games

The problem with this, and the judge knew this, is that the NFLPA would have immediately appealed AND filed a lawsuit against the NFL for breach of contract and Watson would have been eligible to play while it played out in court. She did the best she could with the frame work she had to work within.

Yea. That’s what happened with zeke right? Didn’t he play like 8 games before his appeal failed or something like that?

Yea. NFL will hand down a 12 game suspension with a major fine, NFLPA will sue on Watsons behalf and Watson will play week 1, eventually the case will be thrown out because the NFL is allowed to do that, Watson will miss the rest of this season and possibly a couple games early next year.

And will be eligible to continue playing until the lawsuit is over, which, could take an entire season.
