    Mariota to re-sign with Vegas

I don't know how true this is, but the article says Mariota is planning to re-sign with the Raiders for the 2021 season. I'm assuming he renegotiated his contract.
There are also reports of Mariota flying in to Las Vegas from Hawaii on Sunday. Take it for what it's worth.

Interesting. Maybe with the whole Watson thing we're able to trade him after all. We'll see I guess.

Having Mariota at a better price would not be a bad thing. He would be a quality backup if Carr is injured and we might get a good trade if another team loses their starting QB during the season.

Mariota appears to be losing his ‘gamble’ with the Raiders.

This article says teams in need have already signed quarterbacks who are expected to start in 2021 and the Raiders are under no pressure to release Mariota
because his 2021 salary isn’t guaranteed until the regular season.

If we can sign him for that 3 million number we floated it would be a huge win. It would make him very easy to trade or affordable enough to keep.

exactly marcus would be worth much more in a trade due to his reduced pay

If Mariota wants to be traded and have a shot at starting, resigning for a lot less is a good start. If this is true, it would make him much more marketable. I'd rather not have him on the books. We still need a RT and FS.

Mariota at 3 million is perfect. He's a quality backup should Carr get hurt. When the pandemic is behind us and the new TV contract kicks in next year or so there will be more money for Mariota no matter where he goes.

agree but a reworked contract also makes him target #1 for a team that loses their qb to injury just before the trade deadline and the raiders can fleece that team as well

Want Mariota, don’t want to see Peterman coming in, if Carr goes down.
