Awesome, an expert predictor is not basing the pick on team need.....but the guy in charge of the draft.

Maybe their thinking about cutting the cap number down from 22 by giving him a signing bonus now, of say 12 million, moving the base to 7 million. So he gets his projected base, we drop his cap number to about 15. We can also further reduce it by giving him extending him a year or 2. Given the drop in the cap......the additional 7 million in space is huge.

I believe we will go heavy defense, specifically in the first 3 rounds other than maybe drafting an RT.....however...with that being said....I do have that thought in the back of my mind where our guys think the draft is super deep in front 7 help and we draft offensive guys early

I'm thinking the same thing. Basically gives us more spending power. I think it is more likely to happen than not because unless we get Watson, Carr is staying put. He's better than any FA QBs coming up I think and already knows the system. Our next starting QB will be drafted and sit behind Carr until he's ready.

If the Raiders can save on cap by extending Carr, they should do it. They need FA’s in at least two positions on defense who will make immediate impact. Deep safety, DL...this is gonna mean money. Tyrell was first, Joyner is next, restructure Trent or hit the road, and then extend Carr. Not sure of Mariota’s cap hit, but use that gottam $ to pick up some proven defensive backfield leadership. There are guys out there.

Sick of this idea that Carr can’t win games when a whole team unit has played poorly.
