Derek Carr Desean Watson Trade Chatter

The quarterback carousel is spinning, and one of the riders has a perpetual scowl on his face.

Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that “several NFL insiders” expect the Raiders to field calls regarding a potential trade of quarterback Derek Carr. Bonsignore suggests that the expected demand for Carr could result in a three-team trade that would result in the Raiders trading Carr and acquiring quarterback Deshaun Watson from the Texans. (Presumably, the Texans don’t want Derek Carr, perhaps because of its experience with his brother, David.)

Would only like to see Derek Carr traded, if we are getting Deshaun Watson, unless what the use, trade Carr for Two First rounders, but have no QB? Guess we can ride with Mariota, but who knows how he pan out.

Derek carr to washington,we get their 1st rd pick and a 1st next yr 2022,then trade our 1st,washington 1st and washington 1st in 2022 plus marcus mariota for watson

    WASHINGTON GETS THEIR QB (CARR)
RAIDERS GET THEIR QB (WATSON) AND OFF LOAD MARIOTA AND CARRS CAP COST'S
TEXANS GET WASHINGTON 2 1ST RD PICKS (WASHINGTON) OUR 1ST RD PICK AND A BRIDGE QB IN MARIOTA AND SAVE CAP COST'S

Derek Carr QB, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Review Journal's Vincent Bonsignore writes "multiple teams" are expected to pursue a trade for Derek Carr.

The Raiders "figure to at least listen", especially if offers include multiple first-round picks. Carr's contract is very tradable for both parties. He'd only cost the Raiders $2.5 million in dead cap if traded, and the acquiring team would have Carr for two years at about $20 million per season, all non-guaranteed. Carr finished eighth in expected points added (EPA) per dropback last season and will only be 30 years old in 2021. Bonsignore lists the Colts, Bears, Patriots and Washington as potential suitors, along with the Texans if Deshaun Watson is actually available. If Carr is dealt for draft picks instead of players, the Raiders could turn to Marcus Mariota, who is due $11.4 million this upcoming season, as their short-term answer. But the big dream certainly is to flip Carr and the Raiders' own first-round picks into Watson.

If the Raiders can get 2 first round picks for Carr...go for it and go with Mariota for the 2021 season and see how he does....

Be nice to get Watson; but it going to cost and he is expensive....not really sure if I want the raiders to go down that road...

I’d trade for Watson if we can get some good draft capital for Carr.... we suck at using first round picks anyway

Bonsignore is saying other teams are asking the Raiders about Carr. The Raiders are not marketing him to these team, but they will apparently listen to offers.

Why would you trade for a player who demands to be traded by his current team? If Watson doesn't like where he goes, he will hold out and ask to be traded again.

Carr had his chance to lead this team , time to move on . If that means Watson great. If we have to role with Mariota next year , maybe we can move up and draft our future QB. Something needs to be done. We haven’t won shit with him , we need a new voice in that huddle.

Raiders should be like the Rams, trade their 1st picks away, like you mention, they can’t draft good 1st rounders.

Watson has a no trade clause in his contract, so he half to approve to the team, that he going too.
