First reports indicated that Gruden was interested in Jameis Winston, then Adam Schefter reported over the weekend that credible sources are telling him that the Raiders WILL pursue Tom Brady if he isn't re-signed by the Patriots before he becomes a free agent. Plus, we heard that Tom Brady has actually purchase property in Las Vegas. What gives?
Plus, the interview from Mike Mayock! Mayock basically said that Carr's job isn't safe -- that the Raiders are looking to upgrade every position on the team! And even Gruden talks about Carr the way a man who doesn't love his current girlfriend and is thinking about breaking ties might talk. He's non-committal. Although Carr has said he will be the Raiders' QB in Vegas, neither Gruden nor Mayock have said this.
Carr has already bought a house in Vegas and will be Gruden's neighbor. What will Derek Carr do if he has to move to another city because the Raiders decide to trade him to another team?
The bottom line, Raider fans, is winning. Derek Carr is not a winning QB. Sure, with a defense like San Francisco's, he might lead us to a winning record, but can he ever win a Super Bowl for us? Will we ever have a chance at a division championship with Carr at the helm and Mahomes in KC for the next 10 years?
Gruden and Mayock know the answer. We do, too.
