    Buckner fired!!!

Raiders coach Jon Gruden has fired respected defensive line coach Brenston Buckner and is expected to replace him with Rod Marinelli. Under Buckner, the Raiders improved from 13 sacks in 2018 to 32 this year, and from 30th against the run to 8th.

Tampa Bay connection, guessing Gruden wanted him when he was first hired....now that McCarthy has taken over Dallas, Rod's a free agent.

Lets just hope we don't take a step back.

Sounds like a Raider move...pretty much senseless!

I got no problem with this move rod marinelli hire would be good for our defense especially if we grab mlb/olb in the draft

Someone had to take the fall for the bonehead decision to play CF inside. Guess Buckner is the guy, even though it was probably more on Pauly PopGuenther.

Wasn't Marinelli the Cowgirl DC for a while ? Don't think Guenther's job is in jeopardy but he should be looking over his shoulder.

He should have been the one fired.

Buckner was probably the only one on the D staff that should have been retained?

Yep, they went with smaller faster Dlines over his years. Now with the change to Nolan, they're looking at girth. So not sure if we need a scheme change with Rod coming in.

I'm lookin at it as a possible replacement for Guenther if the D doesn't take another step forward.

Interesting take, could be, and he was not available when Gruden got the Oakland job.
