Thread: Greg Olsen

    Greg Olsen

What is this guy's job? I know he's the OC on paper, but what does he actually do? Gruden calls the plays and apparently implements his own system, so what happens when the offense stinks? Does the OC get let go?

He's a QB coach and installs the offense. He goes over the concepts with the players and all that.

Olsen stunk as our OC the first time around. Unimaginative and boring. Thought we couldn't do much worse, then we brought Greg Fucking DirtKnapp in. Holy shit.

This sounds crazy, but Hue Jackson was a very good OC. Top notch. Exciting.

Think Gruden is an excellent schemer, but way too conservative and predictable after the opening script. Would be nice if he had a more imaginative OC to push him into opening things up a bit.

Olsen ain't going anywhere though. Plus he's got the semi-cool 80's Pat Riley look working in his favor.

Remember when Bill Callahan took Gruden offense and open it up, love that offense.

I'm hoping Jon brings in Jay to install or adjust O after initial series... jon is great on opening play calls but gets stuck and doesnr adjust/adapt that well. Hopefully that changes next year. But why not bring in his bro Jay?

That really up to the QB to push Gruden; remember how Gannon use to just call a TO when a play got sent in and he did not like it; and then Gannon be heading to the sideline yelling and bitching at Gruden for being to conservative....I think Gruden really got to trust his OC for calling the offensive plays...

I have to disagree with that; if Barrett Robbins play in that game; I think we would have won the game....that year Robbins was playing like the best center in the NFL plus he was a very big center too....he was a very important piece to that offense; Treu was decent as a replacing him; but it like replacing an All Pro with a backup, it just really hurt the offense...
