Asomugha turned into a pretty good corner for the Raiders, if I remember correctly his first year wasn't good. A lot of people were calling him a bust. One of the first signs that I notice when a player will be a bust. If fans start yelling they are playing him out of his "natural" position. Roberta Gallery was playing RT. His natural position was LT. Michelle Huff was a SS, his natural position was FS. These players couldn't beat out the player they were drafted to replace. Then they get moved to get them on the field. They fail at the new position and then fail at the natural position. Ferrell case is slightly different, he is playing most of his snaps at DE, he is moved inside on passing downs. Guenther does this to try and generate a pass rush on passing downs. Get the 4 best pass rushers on the defensive line. Key couldn't move inside he isn't strong enough. So Ferrell is bigger and with today's new NFL player move up and down the line trying to get mismatches. Now if the moved Ferrell to MLB or OLB, that would throw up a huge concern. Meaning that he wasn't playing any DE, a position he played 4 years at Clemson. Strictly LB. Now if injuries occured and he had to play OLB for a game because we didn't have anyoneto play is different. He had a good game. It's a great building block. Fans are expecting him to be Khalil Mack, it isn't going to happen. He will never be Khalil Mack or win a DPOY award. To expect that is unfair. Can he have a career like Michael Bennett. Sure. Would fans still call him a bust? Yes. They want the #4 pick in the draft to win MVP's. Or be better than Bosa.
