You mean similar to how other posters on here were posting stats showing that Ferrell was under-performing this year?

as explained over n over again clelin ferrell was playing out of position, the raiders had him playing interior in half his snaps and half at edge having a rookie have to learn multiple positions is a hindrance to his overall perfomance on the field even mike mayock said so in his interview recently, luckily injuries happened forcing guenther to put ferrell at edge full time and he responded with massive output in his last game and he will continue to put up numbers as long as he is edge full time imo

    Gotcha.

And since you've been around here for "a while", how many of the following draft picks were you high on and peached "patience" for? Unless your "patience" started last year with Kolton Miller and now this year with Clelin Ferrell?

    2017 - Gareon Conley
    2016 - Karl Joseph
    2015 - Amari Cooper
    2014 - Khalil Mack
    2013 - DJ Hayden
    2010 - Rolando McClain
    2009 - Darius Heyward Bey
    2008 - Darren McFadden
    2007 - JaMarcus Russell
    2006 - Michael Huff
    2005 - Fabian Washington
    2004 - Robert Gallery
    2003 - Nnamdi Asomugha
    2003 - Tyler Brayton
    2002 - Phillip Buchanon
    2002 - Napoleon Harris
    2001 - Derrick Gibson
    2000 - Janikowski

8 or 9 games is different than two years. You cannot judge any draft pick a bust halfway into a season. Some do eventually turn into bust, you have a whole list showing proof that busts do happen. Asomugha turned into a pretty good corner for the Raiders, if I remember correctly his first year wasn't good. A lot of people were calling him a bust. One of the first signs that I notice when a player will be a bust. If fans start yelling they are playing him out of his "natural" position. Roberta Gallery was playing RT. His natural position was LT. Michelle Huff was a SS, his natural position was FS. These players couldn't beat out the player they were drafted to replace. Then they get moved to get them on the field. They fail at the new position and then fail at the natural position. Ferrell case is slightly different, he is playing most of his snaps at DE, he is moved inside on passing downs. Guenther does this to try and generate a pass rush on passing downs. Get the 4 best pass rushers on the defensive line. Key couldn't move inside he isn't strong enough. So Ferrell is bigger and with today's new NFL player move up and down the line trying to get mismatches. Now if the moved Ferrell to MLB or OLB, that would throw up a huge concern. Meaning that he wasn't playing any DE, a position he played 4 years at Clemson. Strictly LB. Now if injuries occured and he had to play OLB for a game because we didn't have anyoneto play is different. He had a good game. It's a great building block. Fans are expecting him to be Khalil Mack, it isn't going to happen. He will never be Khalil Mack or win a DPOY award. To expect that is unfair. Can he have a career like Michael Bennett. Sure. Would fans still call him a bust? Yes. They want the #4 pick in the draft to win MVP's. Or be better than Bosa.

A lot of fans do. The same fans expect Carr to never miss a pass or never to throw an interception. These fans expect Ferrell to get double digit sacks, if he doesn't, he's a bust.

Love Chiasson but don’t see him as a fit ... see him as a 3-4 lb ... kid is special

Agree with you on Chiasson. He's going to be a good football player, he just isn't a fit for the Raiders. Now if he were available with our last pick in the 3rd round or our 4th round pick. He might be worth the gamble to see if he can play OLB in a 4-3. He isn't big enough to play a 4-3 DE with his hand in the dirt. He's going to go mid 2nd round which is too early for the Raiders to take a player and switch his position.
