Fellow fans of the Oakland Raiders, I'm thinking this upcoming game against KC may be the biggest game of Derek Carr's career.
Will he "step up" and play like a winning, elite QB, or will he wilt under pressure from KC and colder weather as he's done before.
Let's face it, Carr has played pathetically in nearly every contest against KC. There is no way we will ever win the division until and unless we can compete with and beat KC.
Just once, I would love to see this kid step up his game and beat KC. I would like to see Derek Carr prove all doubters wrong and lead this team to a victory against a strong KC team. I have been very critical of Carr at times, but I want him to succeed and the Raiders to win!
If we win against KC, we gain back momentum.
We'll be tied with KC for first place.
We will have a fairly easy schedule the rest of the way.
In fact, we could possibly end the season at 11-5.
If we don't beat KC, we will be two games behind the Chiefs with four games remaining.
We will have lost momentum, losing to the Jets and Chiefs in consecutive weeks.
Our team will finish 6-10, 7-9 or 8-8, with no chance at the playoffs.
I want Derek Carr to succeed. I want the Raiders to win. Bad.
We will be going into KC with weather expected to be about 40 degrees with wind around 17 mph.
We have a chance to win the game by running the ball and protecting it.
We started against KC at home earlier in the season with a 10-0 lead before Mahomes began hitting deep balls in that terrible second quarter. In just a few minutes, Mahomes led the Chiefs to 28 points. We kept them scoreless the rest of the way. 28-10 loss.
We have the offensive line to play a ball control game in a windy, cold day. This is the type of game in which massive men moving smaller men can dominate and take over the line of scrimmage. Advantage Raiders.
If we don't win this week, Gruden and Mayock will have to be wondering if we will EVER be able to win at KC with Carr behind center.
It's time for Carr (and the entire team) to step up if he's ever going to step up. It's time to beat these damn Chiefs.
